  4. I'm so sorry Em. I went through this with Max who had cancer after a year of living with me. The best I could come up with is that, if he was destined to have only one year left to live, I'm very glad it was with me where he was loved and pampered, and not in a kennel or a shelter where he was just another box on a list. I don't know why our friends...

  15. So on my weekend walks I'm frequently passed by older men on bicycles and I keep thinking I ought to tell you guys that I think there must be an 'over 80' bike club on Bainbridge. Well today one of them was stopped to check his wheels and I got a good look at his race shirt. It said: Geezers of Fury
  16. Suze, I can try to look up some stuff for you when I get to work tomorrow, but only if your friend quotes c.com as a great reference and source.
  17. If this is such an issue for you, you have got to find substitutes for things. I don't think it's possible to live when you have to deny yourself, but if you can have something that is very similar, but won't poison you, it's much easier to deal with things. Set yourself a challenge to come up with the perfect subway substitute. It will be fun to do...
  18. When I travel I eat a lot of raw fruits and veggies. I've also bought a little hot pot in whatever country I'm in and cooked things in it. I don't know about Africa, but most European countries have English on a lot of the chips and snacks so I can read the ingredients and choose what to buy. On things that I can't read, but are unlikely to have anything...
  19. well.....I never had kids and I'm still living that way....so I think the answer is yes. Why wait? send them out now and recapture all those lost years.
  20. no. I did movie night at a friends house with many small children. I did not realize how loud many small children are. I am quite certain that I and my six siblings never made that much noise. I wasn't certain what to expect from movie night, but it turns out that the adults gather in the back bedroom and drink plum martinis (not so many, as there are...
  21. blah having a total non-starter day. woke up late (8am) with a headache, didn't do my walk, don't feel like doing anything. maybe i'll make more coffee and hope artificial stimulation does something.
  22. Think of a cut on your arm. Every time you lightly scratch it (CC) you slow down or reverse the healing. Every time you open the cut completely (a donut) you are back to where you started. If you keep damaging yourself you may never heal.
