  1. If you read that particular patent, it's a method for producing cleaner vaccines
  2. If you go to the flu database you can search on H1N1 sequences and find more than 2500 entries representing different strains of H1N1. Open Original Shared Link
  3. Just pointing out that the study posted was on non-anemic rats, and doesn't mention doses. Difficult to extrapolate how this may apply to someone taking normal doses of ferrous sulfate while anemic.
  4. I'm sure it is. H1N1 covers a lot of viruses. It's like patenting Fords without naming specific models. It covers a lot of options.
  5. Love that you called your hubby Fang. I gave my gluten food to my neighbor. I would have given it to my friends, but it turned out that most of them were gluten intolerant as well...
  6. Opening night tonight. I'll either be heading out for Margaritas, or passing out from exhaustion afterwards.
  7. Everyone responds differently. There is no way of knowing what your body will do.
  8. H1N1 is a designation of an antigenic type. Open Original Shared Link Mutations within the type lead to virulence and infectivity. Different strains of H1N1 have been responsible for other outbreaks as well, but these are completely different viruses. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link including the 1918 outbreak. Please point out to...
  9. What I meant was, the degree of your response to illness is independent of your response to gluten. That doesn't mean that eating gluten doesn't affect your immune system, but it's an overlying condition, the degree of your response is dependent on a different set of genes.
  10. I think "popular" is an unfortunate choice of words. No one would do this willingly. I would guess that most people with life threatening food allergies don't eat out, the risk is too great. Those of us with gluten issues rarely risk a trip to the ER from a glutening, but we do get really sick, so we are willing to eat out but are very insistent about...
  11. actually not, but have fun with the conspiracy-theorists.
  12. reaching incoherent babbling stage. Slept in til 5:15 today. Having Pamela's cookies for breakfast. Director and music director have made up after their on-stage screaming match yesterday. Costume designer and director have gotten over their screaming match. No one dissolved into tears from their apron falling off (OK, the aprons are pinned on now)...
  13. It's not exactly big enough for Lyle. He's either tightly curled, or has body parts draped over the edge. You could choose which part of the lion to warm.
  14. Whether your body over-responds, or under-responds to any insult is a function of the underlying genetics. Open Original Shared Link The response (or lack thereof) could be heightened by your gluten response status, but it's unlikely that your health is directly attributable to your gluten-eating habits.
  15. Where did you get the pink gloves? nm, found 'em. I'll order some for the lab and spread the word.
  16. NOOOO!!!!!!! Just because some dufus puts something on the web, people assume it's true.
  17. There is no identified "Celiac" gene. Some HLA types are associated with Celiac disease (and other auto-immune disorders) but they have not been shown to be either necessary, or sufficient, to cause Celiac disease. It's like saying 'being a lawyer is associated with living in Manhattan'. Not all lawyers live in Manhattan, and not everyone living in...
  18. Cute boy. Pretty clever song for a kid. Tired. Day two of five hours of sleep Bought Lyle a new heated kitty bed. Wasn't sure if he'd like it (you know cats...) but he's curled up inside with no intention of ever getting up again. Sounds like a very good idea right about now.
  19. It was a fabulous party, your house is so lovely, thank you so much for a wonderful time.
  20. So your plan is to continue looking for tests until you find one that shows you test positive for Celiac?
  21. Why do you need a test?
  22. Are you female? Do you have heavy periods? Do you eat meat? Do you donate blood? There are lots of reasons why people become anemic that have nothing to do with Celiac.
  23. What's your point? Viruses mutate continually, that's why they have a new flu shot each year. If the new mutation in H1N1 turns out to be a concern, a different version of the vaccine will be incorporated into the next year's flu vaccine. Additionally, that site offers no citations. Where are their data from?

  25. I've merged your topics. Please stop posting the same thing over and over.
