  1. I'd have a hard time finding a cogent argument against your opinion. I know from reading other's posts that what for some is a symptom of an intolerance, is for me, an annoying side effect (that whole spinach right through you thing sort of hit home). I suppose we all get used to different responses in our bodies and decide which ones we are willing to...
  2. If you feel like a post is intentionally rude, report it. If you think it's unintentionally rude, either post something to that effect, or pm the person. It's really hard to tell how your words are coming across. I'm frequently abrupt because I'm abrupt, some people are abrupt because they are intending to be rude. You can't always tell the difference...
  3. me too, actually. *sniffle* I am so glad this was such a nice experience for you.
  4. Wow. I guess we're back to water. Pretty amazing, actually. Food is not food for everyone.
  5. Really? Even zucchini?
  6. I guess I don't think they're clear. First off I have to state that I think the testing strips are of limited value, and that colors my opinion. So unless her daughter ate nothing but that jar of tomatoes, the cause really isn't clear. She could be blaming cc on something her daughter got her hands on while they were out.
  7. Squash?
  8. So then what's your plan? Stop eating? I still don't believe that contamination can happen at the level of harvest. It's still also possible that your reactions aren't gluten. I know that some of mine are chemical. Have you thought about just buying single ingredient foods and making your own meals from scratch?
  9. Well, I ate something very bad today (no idea what) and I'm feeling better, but I'm dehydrated and exhausted. I'm going to bed (Yes, it's only 7 o'clock). I've got a boat load of work with a Tuesday deadline. Presumably Tuesday am, since it goes into what the boss is writing and his deadline is probably Tuesday pm. I figure if I wake...
  10. You're taking a boatload of vitamin D. I don't think that's very common. I'm glad she's keeping an eye on you.
  11. ah. A former member of Lehman Brothers. You've been trying to switch high powered fashion from wool suits to llama suits by subtly incorporating hand made llammawear into your wardrobe. With the collapse of the financial market, and the onset of summer, you've put your LlamaCladAmerica dreams on hold for a while.
  12. I agree. Anyone with standard food cleanliness routines shouldn't have any problems. Farm machinery cut the stalks, not the grain. Gluten is a storage protein inside the grain. The chance of getting a piece of the inside of a grain of wheat in your food seems pretty minimal, however many other types of food are harvested with that same piece of machinery...
  13. This is pretty much what I eat. Occasional potato chips. Occasional cheese (I have no dairy problems, but don't really care for it) and eggs.
  14. I'm hoping he'll show up Monday. We only get two more days of sun before the rain comes back. Public service announcement: If you've been eating sticky dried fruit, do NOT pet a spring-time kitty. must go bathe....
  15. Another day of sunlight expected here. Planning a walk and a couple hours of moving things around in the yard.
  16. :o Stories! Stories! You've got to share your stories!!!
  17. I've never liked meat, and never ate very much. As my iron levels dropped I found myself eating more and more. Now that my iron levels are back up, I don't care for it very much. I eat more than I used to, just for the variety, and because it's easy. Anyway, I say, if your body needs it, eat it. Your convictions are still your convictions, so try to...
  18. Did'ya at least get a towel before the wall gave way? I'm sure the llamas needed a whole to look through anyway. Voyeurism! The worst part about peeping in occasionally is that we make so little sense when continuously viewed, the occasional glimpse must be like watching One flew over the cuckoo's nest. or maybe it's always like that...
  19. OK. I'm just being cantankerous. I personally don't think there's any validity to it, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun to talk about. I'll just shut up.
  20. Wow Welda. You're a pretty sharp lady. Amazing that you figured that stuff out on your own without all the resources we all use now. You're one of those people that makes me happy knowing we exist in the world at the same time.
  21. Not "old", just may not be as complete, since newer methods are available for testing. The papers you referenced actually addressed patterns, not lines, and stated that they were neither sensitive, nor specific.
  22. If the diet makes him feel better, go for it. He could always choose to go back to gluten and get tested when he's older.
