  1. well, they are whole wheat. That means healthy, right?
  2. I say, if you're the one cooking, you're the one deciding what to make.
  3. fried dough. Just think of all that implies about our cultures.
  4. Space commercial. At least it's (probably) gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link
  5. stop the sadness. no more uncheeriness allowed. In honor of Canada day: Open Original Shared Link
  6. Why don't you IM each other? You can hang out together in separate rooms, on separate computers.
  7. I'm expecting to go home and find one of the menfolk napping on said swing. Whoever decides to show up: there's extra towels in the bathroom, and bring your own brushes if you're planning on playing in my makeup. oh wait, wrong thread for that
  8. Hand the hubby the keys to the kids, hop on a plane, and come to my house. You can help me even out the gender ratio. And my yard swing is all clean and ready for lounging
  9. Peter, sorry about your small furry baby. I'm sure he was as happy as any cat could be while he was with you. Susie and Tom, more hugs. I spent three hours in the 90 degree heat yesterday washing my deck and swing. I come back in the house to find all the males sprawled over the furniture completely sacked out. harumph. men.
  10. and your leaving the country anyway, so they'll have plenty of time to get over it
  11. hmm, unless you can Carla to intervene and somehow send the onslaught to the soon-to-be-exes place.
  12. I think that should be up to the person who's house you're living in
  13. Carla, I have met very few people who are willing to live what they believe, rather than tell people what they (profess) to believe. Those that I have met have been from very different religions, but all of them have been people that are sincere, and deserving of respect in a way that could never be earned, only gifted. You are quietly amazing, and...
  14. You're going to relax this weekend? What are you thinking?!
  15. somehow I missed this the first time -when your mil comes you leave the country??? Sorry Jack
  16. hmm, not into praying (see previous post) but I can offer to watch some bad tv and drive over to my brother's house and clobber him... avoid the pit. soooooze. It's easier to keep away than it is to pull yourself out later.
  17. I love how we come to this totally public thread and gossip about posters in the other threads as if there's no possibility of them ever 'hearing' what's been said about them
  18. Well, Nik, they are still young. Plenty of time left for them to turn and expose you as a slacker mom I watched tons of tv, and only went to church when forced to, and I've managed to subvert my destructive, argumentative tendencies, but then, my mom and dad taught me what was proper, not the television.
  19. Of course not! Television is a tool. Teaching your kids to use it to their advantage, and not be sucked into mindless watching, will serve them throughout their lives.
  20. THAT would certainly get you noticed.
  21. Nicely done. Those two people actually managed to imply that if that mother were more religious, she wouldn't be allowing her kids to watch tv. Gads. Church is not the answer to good kids; being a parent is. I try to avoid answering when threads tick me off -I don't think I could be very objective.
  22. Donna used a fake emoticon in another thread!
  23. pearl stuff: I dust mine on with a really loose brush, then use a kabuki to blend it in. Get just a bit all over your face.
