  6. I sort of assumed that. Most pain pills don't encourage eating. I suppose on the upside I can force my friends to have another girls shopping trip. That was quite a bit of fun.
  7. OK, I realize about half of you are gonna slap me for this whine, but... This stupid frickin' Edna. When I went gluten-free I lost a bunch of weight and had to get new clothes. Then, 6 week vacation, more weight, again new clothes. Now this stupid no-tasty-foods Edna - even my smallest pants are loose. I know, I know, some part of me is happy that...
  8. It took me several months of gluten-free before I didn't feel I was missing something. I chalked it up to my body telling me I was missing something (some vitamin or mineral that had previously been poorly absorbed) and waited for my system to stabilize, which it did.

  17. You don't know this. She may have become this sensitive no matter what. What you absolutely DID do was save her two years of damage and misery.
  18. It is a choice, a choice between healthy and sick. There are a lot of people who choose to eat gluten, knowing full well the resulting pain/discomfort/damage/etc. This is (I believe) the same point luvs2eat is making. You can choose to be healthy and gluten-free, or just gluten-free.
  19. My roomie told me he was going out for cigarettes. I asked him to take my truck and fill it up 'cause the gas station there is cheaper. 5 minutes later the phone rings. Conversation goes something like this: Thanks a lot! OH NO! I didn't make it to the gas station  Where are you? (OK, this has to have been the stupidest question...
  20. Marlena, all of my intolerances have different symptoms, with the only overlap being fatigue. Shay's approach is perhaps, the most difficult, but it really is the best. Once you remember what "well" feels like, it becomes easier to identify what's making you sick.

  25. well, my roomie has officially been sworn in as a US citizen. I ran into him on the boat as he was returning from the ceremony so I got to watch the whole, slow, dawning of realization that his whole life had changed and he suddenly had options that he had never had before. It was kind of fun. I took him out to Red Robins (learned unfortunate new things...
