  1. BTW UncleZack I thought your first post was fabulous
  2. I've heard that the dark chocolate M&M's are fabulous
  3. Alrighty then. I suspect (hope) I have shut down the glutenease thread by posting long scientific drivel and citing papers. Let's see if it works.
  4. Back to this dead horse... Open Original Shared Link found: BBM fractions were prepared from rat small intestinal mucosa as described (1). With the use of standard assays, the specific activities of the known BBM peptidases were determined to be 127
  5. would that then be an unhappy hour?
  6. I'll try to do some this weekend. I had dark sparkly blue eyeliner and brighter sparkly blue as main color.
  7. I keep forgetting to post that I have looked like a trollop all week (Thanks Crystal ) I hadn't realized that the formulation of the EM eyeshadows made them difficult to overuse. I used my finger to apply a different companies eyeshadow and I looked like a vegas show girl  I dimmed that day down a bit, but it has been fun being a floozy...
  8. Bag the testing. Change your diet. I frequently skip testing if the answer involves a) drugs I don't want to add to my body, or something I can fix with lifestyle change. (Not including anything potentially life threatening.) Although I was (technically) diagnosed by a doctor, it was my boss, and he recognized the symptoms because his dad has Celiac...
  9. Open Original Shared Link You have to read the article carefully to get this part: low carb works best for men (as a group), Mediterranean works best for women (as a group). This article doesn't address it, but other groups have shown that diets below ~25% fat are actually worse for you than higher fat diets.
  10. Turns out I lied to you guys, it was June 1 that I started. I'm hoping for 3 more (OK, 4, just for round numbers) by my next Drs appt. in 2 weeks. We'll see....
  11. Poor confused kitty. My Lyle knows just how she feels Although, I suppose with all that "chunk" he has quite a bit of estrogen anyway... Sarah! What the *! did you ever do to Rachel??
  12. Not me. I trust that she ran out of the bathroom screaming "I can't believe I just found a story about anal glands!"
  13. Well, maybe some of that too, but I don't get gastro issues from gluten (mine are neuro).
  14. Interrupting the venting about those "other" posters for a public service announcement. The Pringles light (or something like that) appear to have no gluten. However, after consuming an entire can for dinner (yea, whatever, keep it to yerself) I can tell you that eating that much Open Original Shared Link is a very bad idea
  15. I know. There are some people on this forum who became incredibly ill eating gluten, and the thought that anyone would dismiss that possibility for themselves, horrifies them. I personally don't care if you (or anyone) ends up in a wheelchair because they embraced the "a little won't hurt" theory, but fortunately for you (and everyone else) there...
  16. That's a 44 pound cat in NJ that made the news. She was found wandering and brought to a shelter. Someone said "maybe she's lost" to which the shelter person replied "How do you lose a 44 pound cat???" I discovered about a month ago that I can't eat corn or soy, so now I have to make everything I eat. It makes food choices quite a bit...
  17. I eat almost no starches. No gluten, no corn, very, very little rice, potatoes, tapioca, etc. I eat lots of veggies, some meat and cheese, nuts when I remember. Very little fruit. I usually have veggie centered meals, with fish, and I snack on nuts and chicken (I don't like beef).
  18. Will - Don't do this! This person is misinformed. Those pills may help you digest starches, but they do nothing for gluten. You will damage your body.
  19. OK slackers I've lost 16 pounds since July 1.
  20. I think you should start looking at other foods...
  21. WHAT!?!?!? Who told you that?? And may I suggest, that if you're drinking 2-3 liters of hard alcohol a week it's likely that you have bigger problems than gluten. (as a general statement, not directed at you specifically)
  22. Actually not true gluten genes
  23. I know YOU GUYS read it. It's the people that actually should be trying to learn something that skip over other people's non-supportive comments. (Thanks for the g-ease bump, Patti . Makes me feel like we're some sort of conspiracy group, dedicated to irradicating ignorance (and failing, badly))
  24. Hmm, yes. I tried to shut that thread down by adding some science. Usually it works; once I post something sensible, no one else ever posts. On that particular thread, however, I noticed that my comments were completely ignored. I guess that works too... If you can't be right, be ignorant.
