  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. mama2, I just wanted to let you know that I made these muffins on Saturday night... TO DIE FOR! I love love love them, and can't tell the difference between them and the real thing except for maybe the texture... but even then, pretty dang close. They're excellent to curl up with a cup of cocoa and read a book! Thanks sooo much for the recipe.
  3. hey, i've tried the chocolate one, i bought it at reams across teh street from the place. never actually been inside. are all their flavors gluten free? what's your fave? Hey, they have a gluten free list... I love the cinnimon, I love vanilla, and now have started to make my own in attempts to copy it. The recipe is easy, if you want it I'll...
  4. Everyone try out Pudding on the Rice in Provo! Sooooo good! Also try out the Old Spaghetti Factory in Taylorsville, very very good!
  5. As far as I'm concerned, if you were feeling better off of the sugar, dairy, and gluten, stay off of it! The proof is in the pudding, right?! You can still be gluten intollerant even if you had a negative biopsy and blood test. I had a positive blood test and negative biopsy, but am still convinced I am gluten intollerant. My doctor even gave me a note...
  6. hey guys, i haven't been on here in a long time, with moving and everything. i'm living in provo now. sorry to all who have felt left out because of the ward lingo, it just happens, espcecially since some of us are members. we all have a health problem, and that is what brings us together. i don't have celiac, but i do have a gluten intollerance...
  7. hey guys, Yep it's been a while sinse I've said anything in here, just poked my head in to see whats up! Hey Cody! Guys... Guess what.... I got accepted to the Y for next semester! I might be coming down to Provo after all! Anyways, that's all I got HUGS! Jane
  8. Could it be a hiatal hernia? I have one of those, and it sounds like what I have. It gets worse if I'm glutened and I find my throat swells up... I'm not sure how to treat it though. Good luck.
  9. I'm all of 5'1"! I can say that I'm the shortest one now BUT... I'm 19, maybe I will still grow? (Up and not out I hope!)
  10. Anytime! That would be great. I have school at night so probably can't "assist" you in eating DARN! Tell us more about your conference. It sounds exciting.
  11. congratulations on being able to come to the best place ever! just kidding, i'm a little biased since i live here in slc. anyway i wanted to mention to you if you're going to be in the downtown area, you might want to check out The Roof Restaurant located in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. it is a wonderful all you can eat buffet. you will have...
  12. I'm jealous. That's awesome!!! That is definatly one thing I miss.
  13. I have heard about Stevia. A friend of mine who swears for it and against Splenda loves it. I will check out my local food store. Thanks for mentioning it.
  14. I hope this is the right place to post this! We all know that Splenda is bad for us. Here are some links providing "solid evidence." Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link -Jane
  15. I got this email as well. I wish I could go. I'm in classes until ten though. Hope you all have fun. Welcome!!
  16. I learned in a biology class this summer that if you eat fresh asaragus and your pee smells like asparagus afterwards, then you have a special gene that makes you react like that. Too bad I dont remember what it's called. But, anyway, I thought that that was interesting. Maybe there's a connection there, too?
  17. Her name is Shauna and she lives in Seattle. She wrote about her experience with the Food Network in her blog awhile ago when they shot it. Good to know that the commercials are being broadcast. I think she seems like an awesome woman, a talented writer, and maybe just the type of chef we need on the Food Network to expose the world of gluten-free.
  18. I would still do it because if you are still ill even going gluten-free, you could find out if you had a casein intolerance or soy intolerance as well. You would then know what to avoid and that is crucial to getting better. It is expensive, but I feel very worth it.
  19. You are way too cute. I am a college kid too (just north of you!) and feeling a bit overwhelmed as well. My advice is that you will definatly fit in. Most of the Utah girls are married or soon-to-be by the time they're 22 and so you'll be in the same boat as everyone else. You will make friends and will not be nerdy, don't worry!! I would also take...
  20. Too true. I have always been sick around hay and horses and would break out in hives around it, and grew up around a ranching community. Thanks for telling us this.
  21. Sorry to take over your post but I have a question! Nancy, can you tell me what NSAIDS are? I have mild active colitis and chronic active colitis and this would help me sort it out and feel better. I was diagnosed with colitis and basically left in the dark because they were testing for Celiac all that time, which came out negative both in the blood tests...
  22. The SLC GIG meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the hospital on 1200 E and 3900 S (Correct me if I'm wrong). The one down your side of the mountain meets in Orem every Tuesday I believe.... Umm no bleeding will be done by UofU. Wishful thinking there. Red will prevail this year!!
  23. I had a blood test about a month ago from my regular physician. He checked me for all the standards: electrolytes, auto-immune disorders, kidneys and liver. The test came back and said that I had low sodium. My Dr. told me to wait two weeks and get another blood test and in the meantime I was supposed to eat more sodium. This seems sooo weird to me...
  24. Very cool! I am so glad that your son has a special place to go. How old is he? I am glad you're having special bonding time with your daughter. Must be Heaven to not have to worry about your ds and having a good time with dd. Great post.
  25. Try leaving the dairy alone, as gas is a sign of lactose intolerance. Good Luck!
