I was thinking of trying the arrowhead mills rice and shine cerea. I am a little reluctant because even though the ingredients only say brown rice grits..the front says "made with gluten free ingredients". When I further read the description at the website, it says gluten free. Im confused. Is it actually gluten free? Are they possibly marking it that way because of x contamination issues. I wrote to the company, but I guess it will be sometime next week before I hear anything since its the weekend. Any thoughts? Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out.

Thanks a bunch!

Yep, that's Arrowhead Mills for ya - they've had issues with cross contamination, and to CTA, they say "made with non-gluten ingredients" but usually put a "produced on equipment that processes wheat..." statement on the box as well. Some people have had a problem with their stuff, others haven't. I use their stuff sparingly.

Good. I am going to get some of the puffed rice tomorrow that they make. Someone told me they eat it with butter and salt as a snack. YUM. Corn is heavily sulfited when it is milled, so I cant eat popcorn, so that would be a good alternative for me!

I've tried only the Rice and Shine and the choc. chip cookies. The rice and shine is pretty similar to regular farina--I make it with milk instead of water and it's sometimes better w/ a little sugar on top.

The choc. chip cookies are great--just make sure, when you buy their products, that you get the gluten-free ones, since they also make regular, non-gluten-free products.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
