How Long Of Being Gluten Free With Result In Negative Tests?

I'm not sure if that wording was right..Lol. But anyways, does anyone know about how long it takes to get a negative test result?? I know no one probably knows for sure... But i'm just wondering from anyones expiriences or maybe someone who just knows a lot about this?...

 

Since the beggining of the year I was following a really clean diet with just a few slips here and there. Then I tried low fat and high carb on and off, and then strictly for about 2 weeks. Then I had a carb binge and a week of eating bread with constant stomach pains(which led me to celiac) I tried a few days gluten free but I went back on it for about a week to get tested. After my negative tests I quit eating it for a week and then started eating it again for a new test within a week. How accurate would you think the results would be? My doc will probably get me an endoscopy and im hoping to be on a gluten full diet for at least 6 weeks before the biopsy.. I hope thats enough, since I've never been strictly gluten free for that long of a time period?.

 

Lol, sorry, I'm just very frustrated witht his and have so many questions :)

I think the time required to get a negative test result can really vary. I've heard just a few weeks to up to a few years for the autoantibodies to stop production.... Thats not helpful is it.  LOL  Hopefully someone else can give you more advice.  :)

 

Could you repeat the blood tests in 6 weeks when the endoscopy is done?  6 weeks of gluten would most likely give more accurate results.

Nobody can tell you for sure.  Some of the tests seem to be sensitive to the amount of damage in the gut.  So if you don't have much damage yet it may not show up on the test.  Celiac disease testing is not a perfect thing at all.  Positive test results are pretty darn reliable.  Negative results are not so reliable.  After all the testing is done, it is best to go ahead and do the gluten-free diet for a good 3 months trial.  Write down your symptoms an dhow you feel before starting and compare them after 3 months.  That may give you a better answer than any medical test you can buy.

      I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets...

About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't.       I see it everyday on my feeds. They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts. I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field. Some days I would just like to scream. So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach...

Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver.After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
