Colonoscopy/endoscopy - For Females Please!

Errr... So I just realized, My colonoscopy and endoscopy is scheduled for when it will be 'that time of the month.'  Am I going to need to reschedule?  (I hope not, I'm dying here, and REALLY want to find out when I can eat again.)

The timing didn't work out that way for me so I didn't even think about it, but I don't think that it is relevant, unless you only use pads.  Even if it is a problem, you should at least be able to get the endoscopy done so that you can get your results.

I'm a GI endoscopy nurse and spend much of my workday assisting with colonoscopies. Having your period is not a problem at all. Just tell the doctor you have your period and let them know if you have a tampon in (it can stay in during the colonoscopy).

      Thank you.. Christina My anxiety is through the roof.  I think it was from eggs.  I really don't know because my eyes feel sore. Like I'm allergic to them.  I was defient in B12.   My heart is pounding and it won't stop.  Not sure what to do.   I don't have much support other than this forum.    Colleen

      Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

      Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍
