Can Tea Make A Dumping Effect?

I had some tea today, but had cheese and hallapinio(SP?) two days ago by mistake. They put it on my sandwich at Red Robin. GRR After asking them not to. So I don't know what I'm reacting from. I had a bad reaction last Friday as well. I had some wine last night too. I know that can trigger IBS feelings. Has anyone ever been sensitive to tea or cafein products? I'm just so sensitive right now. I may be over stressing it.

Caffeine can be hard on a healing system.

I cannot handle caffeine because it causes my GERD to act up.

What type of tea was it?

While the others (cheese, jalapeno, and the other reation) do not jump out at me, the tea does.

It is hard to tell because you have had so much in the last couple days. Jalapeno ? Is that what you were saying? MY Daughter is sensitive to Caffeine products, Unless it is Gluten Free. She found some Gluten Free Tea somewhere. But she cannot drink Coffee at all!!

Have you had tea or coffee for the past few months?  Did you had a reaction then?   I'd put money on the cheese and jalapeno peppers.   Reactions can be immediate (seconds)  or take up to 48 hours.  As far as the wine is concerned, the tannin and sulfates have not triggered IBS symptoms for me but cause a Rosacea flare up (I'm vain, so I won't drink it).  Remember, if you're still new to the diet and are healing, you might have to skip the alcohol for a while longer.  Finally, you ate out.  The last glutening I had was at a Red Robin.  I wrote a Yelp and Find Me Gluten Free review and was contacted by corporate (corporate does read those online reviews).  I was told that my local Red Robin would follow-up.  But they have not!  I will not be going to a Red Robin anytime soon.  Instead, I'm happier watching my burger being made at In-N-Out or Five Guys!

Anything with caffeine can cause problems for some people. Some herbal teas can also, again for some people. The key is to find out what works and doesn't work for you. If other caffeinated beverages or products bother you, staying away from all types of teas with caffeine is probably a good idea. The teas with caffeine and that all come from the same plant are oolong, black, green and white. All others (including red) come from other sources and are naturally caffeine free.

If you're having a lot of reactions and you're not sure what they're to, maybe you should try a food diary to see what matches up. Remember, reactions can be delayed so it'll help determine if there is a common cause since you can be reacting to what you just ate or something you ate 2 days ago.

Thanks for the list too makes me realise why I still get symptoms after cutting gluten , all that reading has just made sense to why I'm still struggling , thankyou Scott Adams very insightful , I've been baking to and there is xanthum gum in the flour , I understand now why I still have issues with that too, and ive had to cut dairy also , i had a terrible flare few months ago and my throat also was very irritable and I had sinuses issues all makes sence 👍

Thankyou yes I read up on it beforehand , because or my trapped nerve when I have a bowel flare up it's impossible to keep still  which I will have to do for the MRI ,and it's so painful , and I know if this is what I'm thinking it to be it will cause me terrible issues , sometimes I get to the point where I just want to diagnose myself and act accordingly, because I've been at this year's , and I clearly have all the symptoms , it's so frustrating when you have all this going in and still feel no further ahead 😳

It looks like "mannite" is another name for "mannitol": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mannitol You are correct that it can trigger IBS-like symptoms, as we recently did an article on this: I'm not sure if there is a way around this, as it is likely needed for the test. Perhaps contact your doctor to see if there might be an alternative?

Oral drink: You will be given a solution of mannitol mixed with water to drink over a period of about 30-60 minutes this is what it says it is ,?

Brilliant thankyou for the information I will contact them tomorrow, I was just concerned because I'm already in a bowel flare too , and I didn't want to take anything that would cause me more issues , especially with the way sweeteners make be feel I've had a really bad throat from this type of stuff before , and it upsets my digestive system too and I have a wedding in a week 😳
