Can Dh Be Strictly On Lips?

Having a pretty intense reaction the last few days where my lips are very inflamed. It's not just "chapped lips". Have a few noticeable bumps w fluid. The rest of my lips around them fee like sandpaper. Like mini lip colored bumps that you wouldn't be able to see just looking at me. It's über uncomfortable. I did try a probiotic for two days while this breakout happened. Thought maybe an allergic flare to it; but I have always suspected I have celiac, and it just so happens I made beef and noodles the day I had this strong reaction. In the beef and noodles I used wylers bouillon cubes and it was so super salty. Could the salt in the bouillon cubes and the noodles have caused a lip DH outbreak if I do in fact have celiac, or are lips precluded from DH normally?

I've had dh everywhere but my lips. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I don't want the dh gremlins to hear me say that! Some people have said they get it in the corners of their lips but not many at all have reported that. Truthfully, I would look elsewhere for the cause of your lip problems. Sure, salty foods can really dry out your lips & mine have gotten sort of chapped from salty foods before.

Hi there, I do get the blisters around and inside my mouth as soon as I ingest the tyniest amount of gluten.... First, intense tingling, like electric currents flowing around my mouth.. FIRE and an explosion of watery blisters around my mouth ( I generally get them on my top lip),, on the inside part of my lip inside the mouth, ion the palate and around the ridges, extremely painful when eating.... And sooooo iITCHY- you just HAVE to scratch- but you can't, because it gets worse- then they also appear on my scull soo painful and itchy like fire again- on my forehead, legs, around my genital area... I don't get them as bad as some people I have heard of on this forum... As I also get the digestive issues and my joints.... I don't wish them on anyone... I just want to cry when I see pictures of badly affected individuals with DH...

is it possible it could be angular cheilitis?  Open Original Shared Link I have not gotten it at all since going gluten-free, but it is painful and I had to put fungal cream on my lips...attractive  :P

Thanks for the responses. I no longer have the "bumps"; just a completely swollen bottom lip:( It looks like lip injections gone wrong (or what I would imagine that to look like). Of course it hurts and burns. I had taken a probiotic for the first time the same day I ate the beef and noodles and this is when the swelling started. I saw my allergist who only gave me instructions of "stop probiotic/start mangosteen". So; a week later i haven't been taking the probiotic (Culturelle), but I still have a swollen owie bottom lip. So frustrating! I know I have multiple food allergies, but they have never caused this reaction in the past...why now? And How would I ever know what food or item is causing the reaction? :( Pretty tired of seeing the allergist when they can't give me good answers. All they ever say is "wow, you are allergic to alot", and "try to avoid the food you are allergic to"...which are way to numerous to avoid according to the allergy tests.

I don't really know how to help you.  You might try limiting your food to a few safe ones and then add foods back in 1 at a time.

Just wanted you to know - I had just read your post when my niece called.  Her little guy was at the ER.  He woke up with swollen lips - like he had had too much lip injections.  They can't really say what it is but it might be an allergy.  He is trying Benadryl to see if that helps.  If t helps, she will have to try to figure out what he is allergic, too.  In his case, it looks like a contact allergy.  She is washing his bedding and bed toys.  He may have tracked something in on his shoes or clothes.  Anyway, just wanted you to know you aren't alone.

Hmm, I have one "blister"on my lip which is more like a painful, burning cyst.  Every time I pick at it, my eyes swell with tears, it is sooo painful. It is right under/attached to my bottom lip and will not decrease or go away.  I peel off a new layer of skin every few days just because it feels good to do so, and the skin is weird irregular shape.

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
