Benadryl For Allergies Helped My Bm's

So I took a whopping 50mg of Benadryl Friday evening because my allergies were out of control. I took claratin-D in the morning before work per usual.  But unfortunately I am very allergic to rabbits (but they are so darn cute) and had to examine 6 rabbits Friday morning. When I got home from work I was so miserable I took Benadryl to help me sleep my symptoms away.

A lovely side-effect is that my BM's have been more normal than ever before (like High-Five normal!). Does this indicate a normal side-effect for benadryl or does this indicate I have a histamine issue?? I am just confused as to why this worked so well. I know many here are on low-histamine diets... does this mean I need to consider this as a possibility, too?? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Maybe the allergy to bunny did it?

They are so cute......

my seasonal allergies have cleared, so when i ran out of (generic) zyrtec, i wasn't in any big hurry to get more.  but my guts are happier on the antihistimine  :)  yes, i have noticed that.  i'm not ready to go full on low histaimine diet, although i have considered experimenting with a few (elimination diet) also, if i am having a particularly stressful day, and my insides go on 'freak out' mode, i have a script for xanax that i use <i break it into pieces and take a very small amount.  helps when everything is threatening to turn to goo.  i used to take claritan d in the morning and i am thinking starting that again just to see what happens :)

Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only person in the world who is allergic to rabbits.  Mine goes to mild anaphylaxis, though.  I guess that can't really be mild but never had my throat totally close up, LOL.  So I avoid bunnies.  They are all over our area and eat the weeds in my yard and entertain my cat when she sits in the window so as long as they stay away no cuddles I am good.  And I can make monty python jokes. Not too sure about the BM change with benadryl but what you said definitely sounds like a reasonable observation.  Maybe just pay attention to it the next few times you take it and see if the pattern stays and it wasn't just what you ate overall.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
