Here is an article featured on the front page of Bodybuilding.com that I found to be well written.

Gluten free is preached about big time in the body building community for the wrong reasons. It's good to see they are educating folks.

Good article!  :)

Wait, I thought that all quinoa was gluten free....

moosemalibu Collaborator

The article was talking about proteins that are lumped together as gluten and some people are intolerant to other gluten free grains (ie. oats). She has article references so its worth checking them out.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to quote the part that I'm referring to, but she said something to the effect of that quinoa has varying prolamin content, thus only some forms of quinoa are gluten free.

I don't doubt that some celiacs have problems with quinoa, but I wasn't aware that any quinoa contained gluten.....

Gliadin (part of gluten) is a prolamine, but not all prolamines are gluten. Corn and oats also contain prolamines. I think the article is poorly worded.

All grains will have protein, only a few proteins bother us.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
