No one else is going because Ohio sucks...lol.  There a FB group in Ohio, not sure how many from there but I have seen chatter about it.

Colleen,  here I sit  in Pittsburgh, Pa  thinking  not much here to offer a gluten-free  person!.. I do like  the  Raisin Rack in Canton..... & Columbus  has a big Whole Foods not  that  WF has  a lot  of  gluten-free....We also like  Jungle Jim's  in Cinnci....

Do you know  of any  extra tasty  gluten-free  restaurants  in  Columbus? Don't  know  if  you live  in that area....

GF Lover Rising Star

I really don't know of any.  I only head to Columbus for Dr. Appts. at OSU.  I'm an hour north.  On facebook, look up the Gluten Free Gang (GIG) Ohio.  These peeps know everything gluten-free in Columbus and Surrounding areas.  I'm in a relatively small town that has nothing gluten-free to offer outside of the grocery stores which I'm ok with because I dread leaving the house...lol.  You can find me on FaceBook also, I'm a member of "The Gang".

Hi Colleen  I'm not on fb...  I  do have  the places  "the gang"  suggests  just  thought  you may  know  of  newer  ones....I don't  sit  in a big  gluten-free  mecca  area either.... so  while  I'm in a  big  city  I  buy  lots of things  I  can't  find  else  where...

We  don't  have  stores  like  Anderson's  , Jungle  Jim's, meyer's  so  it is a treat  to  check them  out for  things  other  than  gluten-free  food  ....we have  small Whole Foods  about an hour  away...

I hear ya.  We have a Kroger, Meijer and Walmart.  Between the three I usually find what I need.  I really wish they would start carrying Canyon Bake House bread tho....

I'm looking forward to trying out all the goodies at the Event :)

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
