Celiac & Yellow Sto0L

Slowvince Newbie

I was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease.  My gastro doc explained some of my symptoms, but I was in shock at the time.  Can someone tell me why you get yellow stools?

Appreciate the info.

Thanks,

Vinny

I think (I'm not a doctor) that can be a sign of fat malabsorption.  It could take many months of healing on the gluten-free diet before that changes.

Best wishes

Yellow stool, when actually yellow, not just pale, can occur every time when the stool moves throught the bowel fast, so the bile in it does not have enought time to convert into the brown color as it normally does, but remains yellow. So, yellow stool by itself can't tell anything more specific than the stool is moving fast through your bowel from any reason: malabsorption, food poisoning, etc.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
