I may have found the answer to my problems

Long story...

I have always had problems with gaining weight (extremely skinny), diarrhea, anxiety and irritability and have been meeting with my doctor throughout  the last couple of weeks. Beforehand, I took some medications for my anxiety and they helped with the irritability and anxiety but not with the diarrhea, so I stopped taking them. Anyways, after listing my symptoms to my Doc. he told me that it might be IBS so he took a lot of blood and stool samples and told me to avoid all dairy products for two weeks but nothing has changed. I found out that most of the things the Doc tested were normal, but my ferritin level is 3 so I'm anemic, and my vitamin B12 and folate levels are way over the normal range. He also tested for H Pylori antibodies and it came back positive. Not too sure what H Pylori is but I'm not surprised about being anemic because I've previously been told about my anemia and have even taken pills for it but it never goes away! I decided to look up my lab results and came upon an article talking about celiac disease and I actually felt excited because I feel like I might have found what's wrong with me! Among the main symptoms that I relate with are diarrhea, weight, bloating, nausea, anemia, anxiety, irritability, sleep issues and headaches. Some of the surprising symptoms I've read about: eczema--I was given cream for it couple a years ago, I used to have HORRIBLE leg cramps when I was a little younger but the doctors told me it was just growing pain, RLS (not 100% sure what it is but I assume it's when you're sitting for a long time or sleeping and your foot falls asleep. I have to get up and stomp my foot several times before it goes back to normal),thinning of hair, pale skin, night sweats, etc.

I feel like I relate with most of the symptoms and have possibly found out what's wrong.

That's interesting. I have celiac - my ferritin is low and my B12 level quite high.

When you get the celiac blood work done- you should also get your thyroid checked. Don't stop eating gluten until you've had the good work and biopsy done for celiac

H-pylori causes ulcers, which are treated with medication and, I believe, changes in diet.

I suggest going to the doctor with your concerns about celiac.  Keep eating gluten because it's necessary to getting accurate results. If you have stopped eating gluten, then you will be required to do a gluten challenge for, I believe 4-8 weeks, prior to testing.

Body dysmorphia experience. When I was at the worst of my gluten problem I use to get chronic constipation; I would spend long time sitting on the toilet. One day as I was tired of sitting, I rested my head on my hands and my elbows on my knees, as soon as I felt the pressure of my elbows on my knees the perception of my body changed to that of a tarantula; I visualized and it felt real. The perception went away as soon as I removed the pressure on my knees, I deducted that the pressure of my elbows on the knees caused the sensation, so I repeated the position and the sensation of having the body of a tarantula happened each time. I have not had that experience since then because I started a gluten-free diet short after. I wonder if those people that look distorted to themselves in the mirror could have something similar but with the responsible sensory contacts located on their feet. I want to document this experience because it might help some research or others, it sounds crazy but I feel the right thing to do is to share it.

Get tested for vitamin deficiencies.  Though neuropathy can be a symptom of celiac, it can also be caused by deficiencies due to poor digestion caused by celiac and could be easier to treat.

Thank you so much for your response  Yes it seems as though things get very painful as time goes on.  I'm not eating gluten as far as I know.  However, I'm not sure of cross contamination.  My system seems to weaken to hidden spices and other possibilities. ???  if cross contamination is possible...I am in a super sensitive mode of celiac disease.. Neuropathy from head to toes
