Skin prick test reaction

Hi Everyone! I have not been diagnosed with celiac but I am planning on doing that soon as I am able to. I have stopped eating gluten and stopped having GI issues. I also stopped having dairy because that was causing problems as well. 

 

My my question is can you get a different reaction to a skin prick test besides the wheal? I got tested for ragweed and bananas (because I ate a banana recently and my mouth got all tingly) but no reaction showed up on my arm. I did, however, feel that my mouth got itchy. Then I came home and ate a banana and the same thing happened. I asked the allergist if I would have experienced any other reactions besides the wheal but she said no. I feel like she wasn’t taking me seriously so I didn’t tell her my mouth was itchy. Is it possible it was from the skin prick test? I also just tried to have some cucumber and that made my mouth itchy too, which, when I looked it up might be because the cucumber is in the ragweed Family. I don’t want to be overdramatic but I’m scared to eat these foods now. Is it possible the skin prick test was a false negative? Was the itchy mouth a reaction? I got the reaction from the banana Not the ragweed and I used a real banana because she said the extract isn’t always strong enough. Help!

It is possible to have systemic reactions from skin prick tests, but they are usually happen along with a positive skin reaction.

Here is some info about ragweed/banana and itchy mouth.

Just keep in mind that celiac disease testing requires you to be consuming daily for 8 weeks or so before a blood draw.  They are testing for antibodies and not an allergic reaction.  It is possible to also have an actual wheat allergy.  

Allergy testing (IGE) is not always accurate.  For example, I wheal up for horses and cats.  But I do not worry about exposures.  I still ride horses and pet cats (but I do not live with them on a daily basis).  Not all allergies lead to anaphylaxis.  I think you should research more and talk to your doctors.  You may be worrying too much.

      I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets...

About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't.       I see it everyday on my feeds. They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts. I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field. Some days I would just like to scream. So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach...

Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver.After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
