I am still waiting to gain weight! I have been gluten-free since April, starting feeling better in August. My gi doc and I are hoping that I gain weight soon.

This really varies, but I had lost 15 lbs. being really sick before I was Dx. In the first 2 months gluten-free, I gained 10 lbs. I ended up only gaining about 2 more and leveled off. I can stand to lose a little, and now that I'm feeling better, I've gotten back to doing Pilates and laying off the breads and things. I've lost 8 lbs. so far--the healthy way and would be happy to lose 10 more.

I started gaining weight within 4-6 months on the diet.

Same here. I was underweight, and gained 15 lbs. in that time frame (4-6 months), and about 5 more after I was gluten-free for 10 months.

Husband Mike only gained 7 lbs in the last 2.25 years on gluten-free diet. His old weight was 175, then 155, then 145, then 135, lowest 128. Now back at about 135 (after breakfast of course!). He is 5' 9"- 5' 10" tall and middle aged, at least he isn't fighting middle aged paunch like his friends (look for the positive in this situation).

It looks like their most recent clinical trial just finished up on 5-22-2025.

Dear Scott,  please check the link https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05574010?intr=KAN-101&rank=1 What do you think about it?

KAN‑101 is still very much in development and being actively studied. It has not been dropped—rather, it is advancing through Phases 1 and 2, moving toward what could become the first disease‑modifying treatment for celiac disease. https://anokion.com/press_releases/anokion-announces-positive-symptom-data-from-its-phase-2-trial-evaluating-kan-101-for-the-treatment-of-celiac-disease/

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.

Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?
