Lectins

Well, as you can see in my signature, I excluded all lectins from my diet for several months, because I suspected them to be a problem. I decided to test this theory now to be sure.

So, I ate rice three days ago. The result was a bad stomach ache, a backache and sleeping until the afternoon the next day (I couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock) and a general feeling of being unwell.

That day I didn't feel like eating at all, so I didn't, just drank water and some chamomile tea.

Yesterday I ate some scrambled eggs (to make sure it's all lectins that cause trouble). Sure enough, today I have very achy hands, feet and knees, and my hands feel swollen and clumsy, as well as a backache.

So, that's it for lectins I guess, I am not going to bother with the rest of them to find out what every one will do.

Tomorrow I will test the salicylates by taking some Aspirin (it's salicylic acid, and if you don't react badly to Aspirin, you're not salicylate intolerant).

I HATE being my own guinea pig, any volunteers?
