My Mother buys pepperoni sticks or sometimes already sliced pepperoni in a bag to use in a spaghetti dish along with broccoli. I'm afraid to eat it even with gluten-free noodles because I don't know if pepperoni is gluten-free. Anyone know this? Also does anyone know of a gluten-free grated parmesan cheese?

Given that most pepperoni packages include "spices" as an ingredient, I think you really just have to call the company to confirm.

As for the cheese... The easiest option is to just get a block of fresh parmesean, and grate some as you need it. (The small pointy bits on a box grater are perfect for it.) This also gets you much better tasting parmesean! ;-) Not to mention you can try mixing it up with percornio or asagio as well.

I have had sliced pepperoni, HORMEL brand and did not have a problem with it. Matter of fact I think I read somewhere that it is gluten-free. Also my daughter eats KRAFT grated parmesan cheese and never had a problem with it either.

Hormel Pepperoni even states "Gluten Free" right on the package!

I grate my own parmesean (much better taste) but Kraft and Kroger are definitely gluten-free.

I live in New Albany /Columbus Ohio and have just found a store call Whole Foods. Unreal!!! There are isle and isle of gluten free products. Maybe I can live with this disease after all. Anyway Hormel is gluten free and there are other pepperoni products out there. Turkey peperoni however is your best bet. Also does anyone have a good recipe for pizza crust? I herd of one but it has hemp seed and hemp oil in a buckwheat batter. Sounds a little strange but if it works it works, Also does anyone know of a gluten free italian sausage?

This thread is ancient news. Products change in 8 years.

Look in the recipe section, use the google function ( in the top right corner) to find many pizza crust recipes.

I was actually told by someone selling gluten free pizza that while pepperoni itself is gluten free, certain companies add gluten during the curing process. I think your best bet would be to look up info on the company, or contact that company yourself. Hormel does state that it is safe.

This is a pretty old thread, so I don't expect any of the old members to respond.  But, it is nice to remind others to do their homework by contacting the manufacturer -- especially if you have doubts about their products containing gluten.

Gluten in pepperoni is possible, but in my experience, quite rare. I have heard this, but have never found a confirmed case (no pun intended, but if  there is gluten it is likely in the casing, not the sausage itself). Hormel (available in he US) and Piller's (in Canada) are definitely gluten-free. Both are so labeled on the package.

      I'm no longer dealing with constipation. I got my liver test last month and it was in normal range. Two years ago I did have a vitamin D deficiency but I'm know taking vitamin D3 pills. Last month I got my vitamin D checked and it was in normal range. I don't believe I've had my choline checked. However, I do drink almond milk eat Greek yogurt on a daily...

      If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly...

Have you been supplementing Iron? How are your liver enzymes? Low levels of ferritin indicate iron deficiency, while  59% transferrin saturation indicates high iron levels.  Possibly indicating Fatty Liver Disease.  Choline is crucial for liver health, and deficiency is a known trigger for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver.  Some experts say that less than 10% eat the the Food and Nutrition Board established Adequate Intake that are based on the prevention of liver damage. Severe constipation and hemorrhoids may be linked to a bile or choline deficiency.  "Ninety-five percent of phospholipids (PLs) in bile is secreted as phosphatidylcholine or lecithin."  Fatty acid composition of phospholipids in bile in man   Deficiency of these bile salts causes the bile to get thick. Some people with Celiac Disease are misdiagnosed with Gall Bladder bile issues.  Removal of the gallbladder provides only temporary relief. Whether or not celiac disease or NCGS are your issues you need to look at your vitamin D blood level.
