Unusual Autoimmune Anaphylatic Response

In the past 2 years I have an increasingly dangerous response to wheat or yeast (or something that grows in the wheat) that lands me in the hospital emergency room on a frequest basis. I get a life threatening reaction after +1/2 hour that starts as vicious hives and proceeds to anaphylatic shock. I can eat a McDonald's bun but not a fresh made bagel or pizza. This is not an allergic reaction, it is an autoimmune reponse the triggers anaphylatic shock.

I have been to numerous doctors, everyone is mystified. Has anyone any experience with this type of reaction? Thank you for any and all help.

I get that too, whenever I get gluten posioning, I end up in the hospital. No one knows what it is, but it whatever. Just stay away from all gluten sources.

Never been able to figure it out. :o

"I can eat a McDonald's bun but not a fresh made bagel or pizza."

Then you've got something else going on other than gluten. All three of the above are heavy in gluten.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
