Just happy to be getting the hang of the Flour Mix!

:lol::lol:

When I make gluten-free pancakes, they can't taste the difference anyway because they have their pancakes literally floating in syrup, I could substitute my gluten-free pancakes for rock hard rice bread and they wouldn't be able to tell the difference! I do go through a fortune in syrup, though!!!! <_<

I am glad you are getting the hang of the gluten-free flour baking stuff! I'm still trying!

Hugs!

i love the pamela's baking mix for my pancakes...and my hubby eats them too...and i still get to use my special technique that i learned from one of my friend's moms...add a cap full of clear soda to the mix, it makes the pancakes really fluffy :);)

I loved Pamela's too but we all think Mona's is lighter and fluffier. I was surprised to think one could be better then Pamela's....Mona's mixes is from Washington state. I never liked pancakes in my pre gluten free days so my family laughs that I now like them.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
