YES! I have "word-retrieval" dysfunction, according to my testing . . . at least I know now WHY I can't get the right words lately . . . it is SO frustrating.

Have you tried the tinted mineral veil? It's in the summer gift thing-y. NICE. I really like it! We only have Ulta here . . . and boy, is my husband glad. When we were in Mall of America, they had Sephora -- my husband was FRIGHTENED!!!!!

I'm sorry Jen . . . . . . . :(

Hmmm, that's usually Brian's response too :) Poor thing...before we had a sephora here, whenever we went out of town, I had to ck if there was a sephora, and if there was, we had to go :)

i'm undiagnosed with celiac, waiting to get tested, but i do have rosacea. interestingly it first appeared when i was 19 and got sick with a virus. this is when my stomach bloating started, anxiety doubled and my physical health gradually started getting worse (probably anemic/malnourished). but i wonder if there's a connection. i do notice that stress, junk food, and blushing/internal body heat (which i have a lot of) make it worse. i haven't noticed that sunlight has an affect. maybe it will clear up if i go gluten-free...

Rosacea is frequently seen in us Celiacs. Some of the triggers for folks here are sun exposure, alcohol, esp wine and spicy foods. Mine has really improved with the metrocream (not gel). Mine came on late, but some of the people here did notice good improvement with their rosacea after going gluten-free.

I hope nobody minds that I'm bumping a two year old thread. I did a google search on rosacea and gluten and ran into this thread. anyway, I've got a few questions if ya'll don't mind..

I'll be curious to see if you discover a connection with eggs and rosacea. I've been cheating a little bit lately with them and my psoriasis has flared up big time. It was almost gone - with the help of Dovonex and now my arms are covered again and inside my ears. Until you reminded me of the rosacea I had forgotten about it - I hope it doesn't flare up too. It seems like when I had the rosacea my psoriasis was really bad. I have it everywhere you can imagine and a few places you probably can't  . If I had the willpower, I'd go back to fish, rice, fruit and vegies - the only diet that cleared my skin up 100%.

fish, rice, fruit and veggies eh? how long did it take to clear up your rosacea? how much redness are we talking=)

Glad you found something that works for you Jen. I remember when I got the diagnosis of Rosacea. I had to be in my mid 50's. The doctor at Loyola gave me this lovely phamphlet to read and on the way home I totally lost it. Never got past those awful pictures. My dentist I had at the time, had an extreme case of Rosacea and all I kept doing is look at the pictures and then picture him. My husband calmed me down by reading the whole phamplet. It said that if you start to get bad that they can do laser on it and take away the red veins. If it goes too far, they can do nothing. They put me on Metrogel and that seemed to control it. I have never been a sun worshiper and so that was a blessing. When we decided to retire to the Southwest where it is always sunny, my dermatologist thought I was nuts. Funny thing is that now that I have been gluten-free for 28 months, the rosacea has really faded and I use nothing for it anymore. I don't even think about it anymore as it can barely be noticed.

how long did it take for improvements on your rosacea? and were you only gluten free?

I think I'm going to try eating only 3-4 foods for an entire month. an experiment.

in the meantime, do you guys mind if I post some pics of my rosacea? I was diagnosed with rosacea but I don't think that's what it is. I don't have flare ups, triggers or anything like that. no burning, no itching... just cheeks that are always a deep red. always, never change. doesn't matter about sun, etc etc. also get zits here and there, the white head ones or whatever.

here are some pics:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v642/Cod...saceazoomed.webp

does this look like what any of you had? is it possible that a diet will clear this? I'm starting to think that my only hope is laser treatments. I've tried several of the creams -- never again. they work a little bit, but do NOTHING for the redness which is my main concern right now.

is a month long enough to tell whether or not nothing but fresh caught fish, veggies, fruits and rice will clear up my redness? are there any fruits or veggies I want to avoid?

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
