Thanks C-

I acutally found the # and called them 1-800-892-2401

They said that the tator tots used to have Gluten, then they changed the ingredients so now they dont have any gluten. They just havent updated the website. But they do have list they can mail you if you like thats more recent. Just give them a call =)

We're on the same wave length, I just called them a few days ago. The woman I spoke with said they can't certifiy they are gluten-free as they are made on machines that produce products w/ wheat.... but the ingredients look safe (I eat them a lot and so far so good). Here's the email I just got from Ore Ida on the Tater Tots

Thank you for visiting our web site.

The ingredients for the Tater Tots are as follows:

Potatoes, Partially hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Soybean and/or Canola), Salt, Yellow Corn Flour, Onions, Natural Flavoring, Dextrose, Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate (to retain natural color)

Allergens: Soy

This information can also be found on the package. Always check the packaging for specific ingredients to that package, because recipes can change from time to time..

Thanks again for contacting us. We appreciate your interest.

Yeah, I saw them on a gluten-free list recently, so I was surprised when they weren't on the website...

I've eaten them. They did, however, make me sick, but I don't know if it was gluten or if my body just didn't like the oil in them. Or the potatoes themselves bothered me, who knows anymore

One time my husband brought home the crispy crowns (look like tater tots) on accident and they are not gluten-free!

I seem to do Tater Tots just fine. Unfortunately, the last several times I've had my beloved Smiley Fries I have had "D" within 12 hours. They are gluten-free, I think my system just doesn't process fried things well. Tater Tots don't seem to be as deep fried, but maybe I'm kidding myself?

VegasCeliacBuckeye Collaborator

I have eaten them a few times.

when I fried them, I got sick.

when I baked them, I was fine...

Guest Viola

I find I have trouble with deep fried potatoes of all kinds, but I'm pretty sure it's not gluten related, just too much oil.

It's a shame too, because I just love french fries :( I still eat the gluten free ones every once in awhile, just to remind myself why I don't eat them more often

Hi Shirley, just checkin in. :)

Hi Shirley, just checkin in. :)

Hi Lisa :D I haven't had much time on line lately, really miss talking to you. I sure wish I could keep up with all these posts...I think I need a housekeeper and cook

It's wonderful that this is such a busy forum, but I think I'd need to spend 12 hours a day on line just to keep track of the threads I like to follow.

How the heck have you been doing anyway? Staying healthy and happy I hope!

ilovechocolate Explorer

I know that this isnt tater totts but I make my own fries at home:

just cut potatoes thinly (any kind my favorite are reds and sometimes sweet!)

sprinkle with a little olive oil

salt and season to your liking ( i love garlic and rosemary on mine)

in the oven for 25-30 mins at 375

they are soo good and cheaper than the flavored ones by alexia, plus you can change the flavors to your mood!

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.
    • TexasCeliacNewbie
Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!
    • Scott Adams
That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.
    • Redanafs
Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
