A while ago before i started having these trillions of black specks show up in my stools i was tested for blood when i was having maroon and bright red movements. Nothing was found said there was no blood no clue what caused it then. But after a week later i started to have these black specks, now that its been about 3 weeks the black specks have continued but i seem to have more and more of them and they are getting bigger chunks of black specks. these specks show up when i wipe or if u where to move open one of the stools-there not visiable on the outside of the stool. I know that black specks can meen mucus or yeast die off but i dont have mucusy stools anymore so this is starting to consern me. My doctor does not want me to call him unless its a emergancy and is not even willing to talk to me about my problems until my test results come back from my parasite/bactera testing. I am wondering if i should have him do another blood test because from what i feel inside and from these specks im afraid i may have a ulcer or some form of bleeding going on.. is this wrong should i just wait it out or should i have him give me another test?? im just trying to look after myself since i cant get any form of response as to whats wrong with me from my doctor- he says i just have ibs but he is still wanting to send me to a specalist for a colonoscopy( good i think i need it so we can find out whats maybe wrong since ibs is a bs diagnosis) but im just trying to make sure if i should harasss him to give me another blood test or not

I would keep pushing the issue. If your doc is giving you the cold shoulder, maybe you should look for another doc. I would be concerned as well, and I would be going back and back to the doc until someone told me what was going on. Keep pushing it, and if you have to, go to 10 different docs until you find one that will listen and will do something for you! (I agree that it sounds like a bleed somewhere in your upper GI track. Does it look like coffee grains? That is the blood "sign" that docs ask for. I hope you find someone who will listen to you better! And I hope you are feeling better soon!

Lister Rising Star

yes it remines me of coffe grains, i keep telling him and i keep getting the same reply "we already tested you for blood "insert real name" and there was nothing there so please stop calling" gah great now i feel sick to my stomic, now im worried again, i meen sorry its not your fault i freak out fairly easaly but that just makes me worry since thats what i thought but kept riding it off since he keeps saying its nothing. grrrr, and i cant just keep jumping doctors i dont have health insurance so im really trying to just keep with him, since usualy he is helpfull and even works around visits so i dont have to pay for some of them

the doctor does not want me to call him unless im puking up blood or visiably craping blood, to me these coffe grains seem like blood and i personaly feel like i should call him for it but he wont belive me unless its like pure black and tarry stools or if i start puking up blood- in my opinon if i was doing either of those it meens that we caught what was ever wrong way to late, if this is blood we could catch it early and fix whatever is wrong

I have desided that i am going to harass him tomorrow no matter what the results may come from it. I am sick and tired of how i am beeing treated and i want some answers and im not going to stop tomorrow until i get some. He thinks im a fricking hypocondriac but i know my body and i know that none of this is right and something is wrong and the longer i keep waiting the worse i fear whatever it is may be getting..... great i managed to make myself worked up again, i have to go to bed now because i have to work at 4am but if anyone else has advice please post. im seriusly scared but also mad at the same time these emotions are hurting my stomic of course for some reason. Im trying not to get myself into a tizzy but i meen blood loss would explain alot of things including my dizzyness and what not. i just want to fricking know not guess im sick and tired of gussing or worrying even if it was something bad if i knew what it was i think half of my stress/axiety and worry would go away just because i would atleast know whats going on....... alright i got myself worked up i need to go before i make myself worse

Lister Rising Star

so today is the day. Im first going to call and request my medical records that way it looks like im doing something (im hoping to scare the doctor into finally helping me) then i will talk to his nurse and have her relay some messages to the doctor about the bleeding and what not. I have a feeling im just going to get shoddy answers again, thats alright though i think i may hve a case against him for the fact that he has diagnosed me twice know with things i dont have and has tried to treat them for things idont have, and he never even gave me the correct tests to tell me ihave those things- only to find out later after having the tests issued by the hospital that i dont have them.... sorry im angry and frankly fairly upset because its going on a month and a half now with no knowlage about whats going on inside of my body

Try to be calm with your doctor. You've said yourself that you've been bugging him, and I'm sure he thinks you're a hypochondriac. He sees you as crying wolf all the time and now that there is a wolf, he's not paying attention.

Make sure you only call your doctor during business hours. Try to talk to his nurse or something if you can, and don't harass him. Your doctor can be your best friend or your worst enemy, and it's in your best interest to have a good relationship with him.

Definitely ask about the coffee ground thing though, even though they already did an occult smear. I can't tell you how many times I've had to do those

Lister Rising Star

yeah i just dont see why he is treating me the way he is, since i have not called wolf atall. Everytime i have talked to him or someone else something was going on i dont just call for the sake of calling. yeah its gonna be his nurse i think i maybe have talked to him over the phone once thats why i dont understand why he is giving me this attittude

3 more hours tell the office opens for me to call

i was also wondering how you all bring up brain fog with your doctor i mentioned it once and he looked at me as if i am crazy

Looking for help sourcing gluten-free products that do not contain potato or corn derived ingredients. I have other autoimmune conditions (Psoriatic Arthritis and Sjogrens) so I’m looking for prepared foods as I have fatigue and cannot devote a lot of time to baking my own treats.

I am so sorry you're going through this. It's completely understandable to feel frustrated, stressed, and disregarded after such a long and difficult health journey. It's exhausting to constantly advocate for yourself, especially when you're dealing with so many symptoms and positive diagnoses like SIBO, while still feeling unwell. The fact that you have been diligently following the diet without relief is a clear sign that something else is going on, and your doctors should be investigating other causes or complications, not dismissing your very real suffering.

It is just so sad that health care in the United States has come to this.  Health insurance should be available to everyone, not just the healthy or the rich.  My heart goes out to you.  I would not hesitate to have the test and pay for it myself.  My big concern would be how you could keep the results truly private.  I am sure that ultimately, you could not.  A.I. is getting more and more pervasive, and all data is available somewhere.  I don't know if you could give a fake name, or pay for your test with cash.  I certainly would not disclose any positive results on a private insurance application.  As I understand it, for an official diagnosis, an MD needs to review your labs and make the call.  If you end up in the ER, or some other situation, just request a gluten free diet, and say it is because you feel better when you don't eat gluten.      Hang in there, though.  Medicare is not that far away for you, and it will remove a lot of stress from your health care concerns.  You will even be able to "come out of the closet" about being Celiac!

Yes, I've posted a few times about two companies: Request a Test and Ulta Labs. Also, pretty much we can all request any test we want (with the possible exception of the N protein Covid test and I'm sure a couple of others) with Lab Corp (or Pixel by Lab Corp) and Quest. I much prefer Lab Corp for their professionalism, ease of service and having it together administratively, at least in DC. And just so you know, Request a Test uses Lab Corp and Quest anyway, while Ulta Labs uses only Quest. Ulta Labs is cheaper than Request a Test, but I am tired of dealing with Quest, so I don't use them so much.

PS - I think you meant this site, but I don't believe it has been updated in years: http://glutenfreedrugs.com/ so it is best to use: You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
