White Stools....but No Other Symptoms

You guys are going to get so tired of me asking questions!

Emmie has had white stools the past couple of days, but otherwise she seems perfectly fine. She is usually pretty sensitive, and reacts strongly with vomiting, irritability and fever with a gluten accident. So these white stools, which are normal in consistancy, are throwing me for a loop. I'm going to double check everything she's eaten. The only new things have been Vance's potato milk (she's been drinking alot of this) and Trix cereal.

I'll call her GI if this keeps up for a few days, since she otherwise seems fine. Just thought I'd see what you all thought too........she only had pale/green stools when she was on dairy, she never had white stools before, even when she was at her sickest. I'm stumped...which seems to be the usual state I'm in these days! Thanks.

I just read online that large amounts of white foods such as rice could cause this. Maybe it is the VAnce's milk. Just an idea. Of course it could be gluten, but since this isn't a normal reaction then I would doubt that.

You could try and cut back on the milk for a few days to see if it resolves.

I would not wait to bring this to the attention of her doctor. White stools can be a sign of liver problems and also gallbladder. Check this out ASAP.

Has she been eating anything with white frosting on it lately?

Hi, I am not sure if you are aware of this, but Trix has wheat starch in it. It is listed at the bottom of the ingredients list. I know this because I just discovered that Cocoa Puffs are gluten free again. I happened to pick up a box at the store and read the ingredients just in case. It is now made with corn starch. So I figured (hoped) that maybe Trix has been changed too. It has not. I even called the company and asked. I went on their web site and checked all the ingredients of the kids cereals. Coca Puffs is the only one they can have. If you are looking for something fruity, try Fruity Pebbles.

The new boxes of Trix with a copyright of 2006 are gluten-free. There is no wheat starch listed in the ingredients. I know it's confusing because there are still lots of 2005 boxes on shelves and those do contain wheat. Hope that helped.

I hope you figure out what's going on with Emmie soon! :)

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
