My mom called me last night and said they decided to have pizza for the big Canada day bash. I wasn't impressed until she told me she ordered me a 12inch gluten free pizza from a local gluten free bakery which she will pick up the day of) and will have a 12 pack of Smirnoff Ice waitting for me (I'll bring the rest back with me :D ).

What a mom!!

That sounds awesome. It's the little things sometimes that we appreciate most huh? ;) Most people take pizza for granted! Mom's are wonderful people.

gratz on the pizza, but I believe smirnoff ice is a malted beverage, and a no-no.

Why must they add gluten to the US version? <_< That just doesn't make sense B)

That's great on the pizza--enjoy!

It boggle my mind a bit on the Smirnoff--it is the same beverage as in the US? I would think the malt would be in both...as that is pivotal to the beverage itself...

That is so sweet of your mom. WE just recently had a family reunion and I was on vacation right before. My mom made gluten free lasagna for my son and I! It was SO sweet of her and so nice to just show up and not have to worry about the food myself. THat is usually the way it is. Mom's are the greatest. ENjoy yourself.

The US version is Malt base. It is brewed like a beer. It doesn't contain any vodka whatsoever.

The Canadian version lists the ingredients. It contains vodka, lemon juice, and carbonated water (7.0% alcohol).

Thank you for the advice. I’ve actually never checked for nutritional deficiencies, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve always taken vitamin and mineral supplements — otherwise my symptoms get worse. This week I stopped eating gluten to confirm whether my symptoms are really caused by it. Starting next week, I’ll reintroduce gluten — it’s sad to go back to how I was before — but at least I’ll be able to take the necessary tests properly. I think the diagnostic process will be long, but at least I’m happy that I finally decided to address this doubt I’ve had for years.

I finally got rhe answer and Tylenol is ok. Thanks everyone

Hey Julie! I was in a similar situation before my biopsy and my gastro said Tylenol was fine. Just avoid ibuprofen or anything anti-inflammatory until you're cleared. Hope your surgery goes smoothly!

I don't see how cornstarch could alter the test results. Where did you read that?

For pain relief I take a combination of Thiamine (Benfotiamine), Pyridoxine B 6, and Cobalamine B12.  The combination of these three vitamins has analgesic effects.  I have back pain and this really works.  The B vitamins are water soluble and easily excreted.   Hope this helps!  Keep us posted on your results!
