It's great to see an article like that in one of the mainline newspapers.

Great to see an article in a mainstream paper !!

I emailed Dr. Mitchell thanking him for the article and explaining that over a 3 year period I had 4 Drs. (including a GI) label my symptoms as IBS and a result of stress/depression. After being being sick of feeling sick, I did research on the web - asked my Dr. for a celiac disease panel and was confirmed a celiac disease with an endoscopy. I also mentioned that many people with celiac disease have other auto immune disorders. (I'm in the process of trying to figure out why I am still ill after 1 year of being gluten-free)...so a gluten-free diet isn't always the only answer.

I asked him to please continue to talk about celiac disease in his articles - as this is a very common disease that needs more attention and awareness.

I encourage all of you to email him - if you click on the article - there's an easy link to "contact us"..and send a note to him...

I've decided to start emailing papers, medical talk shows, news media, etc, to try to bring more awareness to this disease.

take care -

Mary

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
