about 5 weeeks ago i had my belly button pierced, all was well untill a couple of days ago when an insect bit me right next to the site of the pierceing, to cut a long story short i went to my docs who said it was infected, the nurse advized me to take it out but i didnt want to so she dfressed it and cleaned it for me and i have to go back tommorow with new belly bar as this one is makeing the infection worse and have it changed and also the dressing and have a course of antibiotics ( sucks ). my ? is, what antibiotics are safe for me? im also milk intolerant and react quite badly to it which is why i dont take paracetamolanymore as they use lactose to help bind tablets together( so im told but dont know if its true but stay away just in case). can i take anything as im in a bit of discomfort and the rescue remedy tinture isnt doing much for me and i also want to be ready tommorow as to what meds i can take? i feel a bit of an arse i can tell you.

You didn't say what your original body jewelry is made of. If it's not titanium, it could be too late to save the piercing. Some people even react to surgical stainless steel. A lot of body jewelry isn't even hypo-allergenic, and while jewelry like this should not be used to heal a piercing, it often is.

If it's not significantly better tomorrow, you probably should let the piercing go. There will be less scarring, and you can always repierce it later with proper titanium jewelry. You don't want to have the piercing reject on its own! The scar will be nasty.

sorry i should have been clear the pierceing had healed up good it was the insect bite next to the pierceing that made things turn. i dont think it is titanium but i had my nipple pierced a while back and it was fine. the reason im changing the bar is cos at the end of it is a pink stone but it comes to a point at the end and it digging in to the bite infection so makeing it worse so gonna change it for a ball. i really dont want to lose the piercengas i reall like it and i dont want to have it re-pierced in a few months time as it really hurts!!!!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
