Well, soon Im gonna be going to LA and I was wondering what places are gluten free (dairy free to).

ok, lets just say "safe" places, any safe places where I don't have to worry about contamination???

Im gonna be staying in a raddison hotel next to LAX. I'd be sooo happy and grateful if someone could give me a list or tell me some nice places to eat. Thanks everyone :)

There is a PF Changs in the Beverly Center.

The Stinking Rose on LA Cienaga, they don't have gluten-free menu, but if you call in advance, they will accomodate and even let you bring your own bread to enjoy with the roasted garlic appetizer (YUM)

Solar Harvest 242 S Beverly Drive Has Gluten Free items on the menu and can make any sandwich gluten-free, they keep Food for Life Bread handy. Only open til 9pm though. Super Yummy.

Ruth Chris Steakhouse on S Beverly Drive, super accomodating, has a gluten free chocolate cake.

La Fe 1525 West Sunset, fresh mexican food, fresh fruit drinks. Only one owner speaks english, I recommend having a spanish dining card.

A Votre Sante 13016 San Vincente Blvd @26th Fabu Risottos. some of thier desserts are only "wheat free" not gluten-free.

For IN and Out. Order your burger "protien style" do not order with sauce or grilled onions. Ask them to cook it on a seperate grill away from the buns. They keep a clean grill open for this. French Fries and Shakes are safe.

Baja Fresh will be friendly (helps if you have a card) I usually talk to a manager and they make something special for me.

elonwy.......

we checked out the Solar Harvest 242 S Beverly Drive , it was really good , thanks :P , the owner came out and helped us order, she was very knowledgable about celiac. She said her friend has celiac and helped her when she was making up her business plan and menu. It was very good, and we felt very safe eating there.

Another great find was Julianos Raw, I am dairy free also and there is no dairy, soy gluten. He was very nice and came out and talked to me and my mom, after I explained to the waitress that I had celiac disease. I am very picky and would have preferred cooked meat in and out burger, but this was really different and good. His philosphy is that my body was just smarter at an earlier age to reject the gluten and dairy, and that eventually everybody has problems (health) because of it. He suggested that i stick with the all raw, I would if I could have somebody cook me his gourmet meals everyday, otherwise it would be pretty hard to stick to it.

I'm glad you had good eats! A Votre Sante is great. I can't do raw foods, they just go through my system like gluten. Its great when people are freindly though :)

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding

I think I found a huge culprit for severe reactions to create worsening of my c symptoms. Do people with celiac have sensitivity and /or have opposite reaction to certain medications Where can I find a list ?  I'm new here I'm.wondering why I am getting worse when I take certain medicine...the burning feet.  Rebound muscle pain so intense  How many people get opposite effects or have a horrible attack after these meds

Does anyone know if that includes scrambled eggs and healthy smart butter (,gluten free) I add a very tiny amount of margarine less than a teaspoon.  I did no't have any bread    It just seems like no matter what I eat my stomach and nerves over fire and here comes a host of horrible symptoms. My lower abdomen feels horrible, my right leg thigh muscle.. very odd. Jaw pain. Burning feet , joint pain , you name it  The anxiety just creeps up into brain fog. I don't think I could explain this to anyone who is unfamiliar.  Also,  I most likely will not remember posting this until I check it.  This is highly unusual for me because I have an excellent memory.  One weekend before I knew anything about celiac I lost an entire weekend from severe brain fog, confusion, pain, etc.  I honestly thought I was losing my mind. When I think back I recall eating a lot of PBJ sandwiches and turkey sandwiches.  Once again did not know about gluten.  I was just too sick to cook. Do people fast during attacks ?? It seems horrible to keep going through this. I hope I'm not causing my own problems... I wonder if I should fast because I'm not eating gluten .  Chicken ,  scrambled eggs no milk , canned carrots,  gluten free low sugar low fat Greek yogurt which I already posted about 😞 Any suggestions I am open... I am bedridden when this happens to me.  Thank you Celiac community. 🙏🏻❤️

Yeah, that sounds super familiar. When inflammation levels are high — especially at the start of changing your diet — the body often develops a fructose and lactose intolerance. Unfortunately, the only thing that really helps is cutting out anything that isn’t lactose-free or that contains sugar. So basically, stick to meat, veggies, fish…
