Do beef boullion cubes usually have gluten or not, does anyone know? All I read that was questionable was natural flavor. I ate something cooked in boullion, and the person told me it was after I ate it (thanks mom). Sure would appreciate some input here, thanks julie...

I don't know about the gluten but I understand that most, if not all, boullions have MSG in them, which is why they taste so good.

Most bouillion cubes seem to have gluten ...and if not dodgy labelling...

I only buy ones saying gluten free.

Definitely can't categorize by type and always have to read the label or call when in doubt. I use Rapunzel, myself, and I know there are a few others out there that are gluten-free. I've seen a couple that have wheat, though I don't remember if those were boullion cubes or a paste or powder or what other concoction that served the same purpose.

Well I feel fine so they must have been okay. They said at the bottom of the indredients contains soy, and the only other thing was natural flavor. My poor mom thought she glutened me, lol. I had to call her and let her know I was feeling fine and not to feel bad. I looked at some brands on the net, and most of them do, but some don't. All the veggie ones are gluten-free.

I usually take the lists of other allergens as a good sign.

Thats a good point. Who knew a month ago I'd be sitting around stressing about beef boullion. ;) Before this I never just wondered about boullion cubes, lol. Ahhhhhhh how funny is this silly disease we have, well at least I can find the humor in it all.

Herbox(made by Hormel) boullion cubes are gluten free. I generally get the vegetable, beef, and chicken. But, I have actually found the vegetable to be the best flavor, even for beef stews and chicken soups. Plus the vegetable doesn't have any MSG.

I only buy gluten-free ones, too. I'm way to sensative to gluten to wanna take an actual risk (even tho sometimes I have no choice lol). But yeah, I always stock up on the gluten-free ones just in case :) Theres so many different flavours, I think even more than normal cubes, so we got an advantage :P

I strongly recommend 2 dedicated gluten free (gluten-free) restaurants in my area (East Bay of San Francisco Bay Area) (2025) -- Life is Sweet Bakery and Café in Danville. I've been a few times with friends and tried multiple entrees and salads. All very good and worth having again. I've also tried a number of their bakery goods. All extremely good (not just "good for gluten-free"). https://lifeissweetbakeryandcafe.com/ -- Kitara Kitchen in Albany (they have additional locations). I've been once and had the "Buritto Bowl". Six individual items plus a sauce. Outstanding. Not just "for gluten-free", but outstanding in its own right. Vibrant flavors, great textures. I can't wait to go back. https://www.kitava.com/location/kitava-albany/

I'm 67 and have been celiac for 17yrs. I had cataract surgery and they put a gluten lens in my eye. Through a lot of research, I found out about MMA acrylic...it contains gluten. It took 6 months for me to find a DR that would remove it and replace it with a gluten-free lens . I have lost some vision in that eye because of it . I also go to a prosthodontist instead of a regular dentist because they are specialized. He has made me a night guard and a few retainers with no issues... where my regular dentist didn't care. I have really bad reactions to gluten and I'm extremely sensitive, even to CC. I have done so much research on gluten-free issues because of these Drs that just don't care. Gluten is in almost everything shampoo, lotion, food, spices, acrylic, medication even communion wafers! All of my Drs know and believe me I remind them often.... welcome to my world!

If this applies geographically, in the U.K., physicians will often declare a diagnosis of celiac disease based on the TTG-IGA antibody blood test alone if the score is 10x normal or greater, which your score is. There is very little chance the endoscopy/biopsy will contradict the antibody blood test.

TTG IgA reference range 0.0 to 14.9 KU/L

What was the reference range for that test? Each lab uses different reference ranges so a raw score like that makes it difficult to comment on. But it looks like a rather large number.
