I am just trying to verify some information...does anyone know the gluten-free status of red dye #3? I have been "told" that red dye#40 is safe but that #3 isn't.

Can anyone verify this for me??

Thanks in advance.....

My daughter is intolerant to all red dyes (also yellow and blue). I hadn't even thought about a gluten connection. Oh my. However, quite a few food dyes are nothing but coal tar waste anyhow....so, who in the world wants to consume them???
