I Have A Cold. What Is Safe To Take To Feel Better?

So I have a really bad head cold. I usually don't like to take too much unnecessary medicine but I am feeling pretty yucky. Does anyone know what over the counter cold/sinus meds are gluten free? My very first homemade gluten-free chicken soup and gallons of hot tea aren't working. I barely slept last night and could use some nyquil for tonight. What about throat losengers? I know Halls are out.

I don't take much, except for some Tylenol PM at night. But I am a big beleiver in Zycam, which you need to start using asap when you feel a cold coming on. I did verify that it is gluten-free.

Feel better!!

DELPHI LIST VERY CURRENT:

Revised September 1, 2006

*Use this list with caution. This list was created by the Celiac Disease On-Line Support Group members and was compiled from the Gluten-Free Product Lists posted on our forum message board. It does NOT guarantee a product or ingredient is Gluten-Free. This is only a guide to calling and verifying that products are Gluten-Free. Companies frequently change ingredients without warning, so verification is important. The dates posted next to each product is the date it was confirmed Gluten-Free. If you find a product on this list which is no longer Gluten-Free, please post a correction in the forum immediately in the "Confirmed Product (Current)" folder so that corrections can be made to the list. The link to the message board folder is: Open Original Shared Link

If you don't see it listed by product name, look under the company name.

Warning: Products showing (00/00/00) for a date means the product was at one time gluten-free but has been a long time since it was verified. If you're interested in this product, please call the company to verify current status and post your findings on the forum so that we may include it in our next update. Thank you!

ve = verified by email

vs = verified by snail-mail

vp = verified by phone call

vw = website includes gluten-free list

vpkg = package states gluten free

vf = fax

I use Zicam, also, at the first sign of a cold--it really helps!

Luckily, I don't get colds very often, but when I do, I use Extra Strength Bufferin and for a cough/sore throat, honey and fresh lemon juice as needed.

I just don't care for the multi-symptom type medicines, myself.

      Wheat flour is fortified with vitamins in the U.S. as a part of USDA policy. Gluten free facsimile products are not fortified. There is no government mandate for such. When you remove wheat flour by going gluten free, you may be removing a significant source of vitamins.
