In An Odd Mood,no Point To This Most

Yeah I'm not sure WHY I'm posted this here but...gotta just get it out of my system I guess

I'm in an odd mood today, kinda sad...

Look in my signature closely.....today would have been my uncle's 35th birthday. And since its only been 2 years since he passed away, its making me feel a little bummed out...

Maybe this sounds totally crazy, but I think this cold and rainy weather is just his cold tears from his warm heart, wishing he could be here with all of us in body, not just in spirit...I only believe this because this summer when he held a memorial golf tourny in his honour, it was BEAUTIFUL day(barely even a cloud in the sky), then suddenly out of a nowhere I cloud came up with strong winds and heavy rain, and in a few mins it was gone and back to warm/beautiful weather!!

I found out that today is my friend's birthday also, I guess it'll make it impossible now to ever forget either birthday, hey?

Lisa, the point in you posting is obviously, that you need some encouragement. I remember that after my dad died in 1997, for years on February 15th I'd look at the calendar and think, 'oh, it's Papa's birthday, I should call him' (he was in Germany, and I am in Canada)! And then I'd remember that he was dead, and feel sad for the rest of the day.

So, I understand why you would feel sad today, it would be unusual if you wouldn't. It takes many years to stop grieving. And of course, you'll never forget your uncle anyway.

But telling us about it probably helped, just getting it out is always a good idea. I hope you feel happier soon. I'll be saying a prayer for you.

Wow, he was young! You'll probably always think of him on this day.

I had a Baba, too. He died about 6 years ago.

And thanks everyone else for your hugs and prayers. I love you guys.

Hi Lisa--

That's a picture of your uncle, right? So sad, someone dying so young...

You're in my thoughts--sending a big ol hug up to you :)

It is always bittersweet, the memories, and certain days.... Would it help if you told us about him? I, for one, don't know anything about him - what was he like, what he liked to do, and how he died? If it's too sad for you, don't worry, but I always felt that it helped ME in talking about my dad and brother, as though somehow it keeps their spirits alive in talking about them.... :)

Hugs....

{{{HUGS}}} Lisa! I'm sure it was your uncle sending the rain. What a beautiful story.

It's totally expected for you to feel sad today. Like Ursula said, it can take years to grieve, but it gets better every year (except for the years when it gets worse  ). My mom died almost 13 years ago and I still get sad about it, but it doesn't hurt. My dad died almost two years ago and that's still so raw and painful that I can't even think about it. I just know from experience that it won't always hurt.

I'm so sorry that you lost your uncle at such a young age, for both of you.

{{{HUGS}}} again...

Lisa,

How special that bond must of been between your uncle and you. That tells me he although his life on this earth was brief he bonded with those he was close too. It makes me want to be a better aunt to all my nieces and nephews. I love them but I don't think they really know that. Its funny how it just takes a moment to go up to a little one look in their eyes and truely look interested in whats going on, joke around and let them know that they were noticed. Not much but do we do it....I don't do it enough. Hugs going out to you and I'm very sorry he was taken so young.

Yeah, we were close, especially since there was only a 13 year difference between us (thats less than the age difference was between him and my mom!)...he was more like a big brother/best friend than an uncle

I'm in the middle of drinking a rice beer right now, just for him

Thanks for hte hugs...

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/
