I Made Toll House Cookies.......gluten Free

I just made Nestle Toll House cookies with The Gluten Free Pantry's all purpose flour and they are awsome.

I just used the exact recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag and sustituted the same amount of the gluten free flour. They taste just like the originals but a bit lighter.

Just thought I'd share.

Yay for Toll House cookies and yay for you! I have the best luck following "regular" recipes and just substituting gluten-free flour. Happy that you had a success!

It must be cookie week here. The last batch I made I couldn't even tell the difference- Moist and chewy even after a couple days! I also use the recipe on the back. I use Hagman's gluten-free Rice flour blend (about all its good for if you ask me). I add 2 tsp Xanthan gum to the mix follow the directions, then throw everything in the frigde for a couple hrs. This helps keep the cookies from turning into wafers :( . I use one of those fancy Pampered Chef scoopers (the ones that look like an ice cream scoop, but smaller) the medium sized one whatever size that is. I line my cookie sheets w/ parchment paper and drop the dough and go bake for about 11-12 mins makes only 2 doz bigger, thicker, chewier cookies. I didn't have any walnuts this time around, so I threw in some slivered almonds - and a handful of white choc. chips. I am definitely doing that again! Delicious!

I still use the toll house recipe too with a gluten-free flour mix. I prefer to convert old recipes rather than use new ones....gotta love the old favorites. Congrats to you on the success!

YUM!!! I was going to make these today, but didn't have enough butter. I am definitely making them next week....YUM!!

Oh, I just remembered one thing that I usually add to my chocolate chip cookies - 1/2 C peanut butter or 1/2 C almond butter. This makes them really extra yummy. (I usually do almond butter.)

Yes. It adds more fat, but also protein, so I don't worry too much. It also gives them a great texture.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
