Is Pyridium gluten-free? (presc. Medication)

I know a lot of people use lists and I have been leaning towards getting Clan Thompson; got myself in a pickle as I need to know if the Brand Name of Pyridium (Warner Chilcott) is gluten-free. You how it goes, you see Dr. in evening, drug companies are closed, pharmacy is no help and you don't know who to ask if the prescription you are about to buy is gluten-free.

If anyone has experience with Clan Thompson on prescriptions please advise me if it's inclusive enough for USA users.

If anyone has used brand name Pyridium and knows if it's gluten-free or not, please let me know....

One of the ingredients in Pyridium is "sodium starch glycolate" and I don't know if that's gluten-free (read it in PDR).

I will be calling Warner when they open up today.

I went to GFdrugs.com and it's not on their list, but I have often found that many gluten-free drugs are missing from their list.

I wish there was an easier way to get this information.

Thank you.

Deb

This site says it is gluten free (look at the VERY last line on the page).

And I looked at a bouple of other sites and most suggested potato starch was the starch normally used.

Tiffany, Thanks.. I called manufacturer Warner Chilcott and confirmed it's gluten-free & as a matter of fact the Cust Ser Rep I spoke with there believes her son may have celiac disease so we talked a little celiac disease symptom talk while I was on phone with her.

Also the Generic of this made by Amide is gluten-free as well.

Thanks again.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
