gah. Bra shopping today. 'tis such a heinous event. dunno why they don't make those things the size they say they are. It gets tiresome trying on every new style. Although, if anyone is interested, I did find a cut that appears to be designed to maximise the fat under your arms. Seems like a POW style....

Mygawd, I am VERY interested.. . . ..... . do you mean that this bra magically collects all of one's underarm/tricep fat and recruits it into one's bra cups?

Whoa... . ... .I'd be, like, a double F er sumfin'.... . . .. .

Behave yourselves! We do not want to scare Kiwi away! I saw her(?) on another thread & told her to drop by. Those POW pictures of us might scare her off!

Hah!!! Kiwis don't scare easy  Although Mushroom is enjoying a bit of terra firma here in Nevadah for a change :D Welcome to the psilliness thread, you flightless bird of the night. We even let those from Auckland in here, totally nondiscriminatory B) (although, are there any kiwis left in AK? :P ) Let those twitchy flightless fingers fly away with whatever tickles your fancy fancy  and entertain us with what's on yer mind. Very POWish....

I think POW is how I will determine style from now on.

I have to go throw this iced tea out! It tastes like soap! I knew I shouldn't have scrubbed the iced tea pitcher. I usually just sort of rinse but the tea builds up & I scrubbed it really well. Now it tastes like soap! Good thing Dawn is gluten-free.

kiwibird75 Newbie

Yep, I'm in Auckland, but don't hold that against me :P

Bra shopping... there is a subject dear to my heart... ladies - proper fitting makes all the difference in the world - I've been known to stop people in the street and let them know why their bra is not fitting properly ;) Back fat is NOT PRETTY! West Aucklanders make POW look quite refined don't you know!

And please don't behave on my account... I have plenty of naughty in me!

mushroom Proficient

The worst, most uncomfortable, ill-fitting bra I evah bought/wore (once) in my life was one bought from a specialty bra shop called U-Fit-In in ChCh. Well, obviously I didn't fit in, in their store or their bra. I guess the shop was designed for those with ginormous boobies which overfloweth all cups and know no bounds, whereas my problem is that I have BIG bones and small mammalaries and the cup sizes for my around size start at something like DDXXXX

kiwibird75 Newbie

Lol Mushroom. I'm the opposite... lots of filling for the cups, not a lot of ribcage on which to rest 'em... if the band size starts with 12 or 14 (34 or 36 in old money) then it often doesn't quite go high enough up the alphabet :D The very, very best fitter I've ever met is in a little shop in Howick - she's the absolute business and won't let you purchase anything that doesn't absolutely fit perfectly... hmmm... I can feel an expedition coming on.

Bra shopping.......*shudder*

I need the kind that takes everything from the back and brings it forward. Most middle school girls......and some boys........put me to shame

Btw........I think we lost Peoter

BE called whilst I was shopping and I told him it could take a while. He thought I was kidding. I was showing him one of the cute ones  and he asked what size I wore. Humorous to me that the actual presence of the said appendages is not nearly so entertaining as the numbers associated with them. :P:rolleyes:

lol... anybody got any great swim suit advice? including a freaking bikini that both contained said glands while compressing enough to prevent excessive cleavage.

i've lost mine. in a studio apartment. gol' darn it to hicknley hockeystick ell.

I always liked Lands End suits. You could get different bra types and strategic draping or pleating. As strategic as an article of clothing can be that leaves 80% of you uncovered.

Pssshhhhh!!!!

First of all......can't remember the last time I even LOOKED at a bikini.

I personally go for a one suit that covers my thighs. can't get around the cleavage part because although I'm only 4'11" I have big boobs. I can't wait to feel well enough to sit in my backyard (while the neighbors kids are in school). Can't go to the beach until the strips holding my incision together fall off. My neighbor without the kids said I'm welcome to sun in her yard when the older ones go nuts on the trampoline. She also make jewelry (very different than mine) so we plan on trading skills this summer.

Today I see the oncologist af find out my biopsy results. Clark took the day off. Will let you know how it turns out later.

Welcome to the celic.com community @Ello! You say you had a blood test for celiac disease after eating gluten for 2 weeks. Were you gluten free before that? Had you ever been officially diagnosed with celiac disease previously? You say the result of the blood test was 1.5. Can you provide the name of the test and the reference range for negative vs. positive for the test? I ask because different labs used different reference ranges so scores without a reference range aren't very helpful.

Surgery was in April 2023 due adhesions wrapped around my small bowel which caused blockage and had to be removed. Adhesions were so badly entangled that Surgeon could not cut out them, so the resection was performed. July 2025 started having severe yellow diarrhea and sometimes constipation. Just had another episode and was tested for celiac. Blood test stated 1.5 after eating gluten for 2 weeks. Lipase level was 120. Having an CT scan to check the pancreas. I have never had any issues eating gluten and now I am so fearful that I might have celiac. Has anyone had a small bowel resection? I am 65 years old. UGGH! I am still feeling bloating etc.

If your tTg-IgA was 28 and positive is at 3, you are nearly 10x over the positive marker, so the most likely explanation by far would be celiac disease. I also do not understand why your doctor would not want to run the blood test, which is the normal first step in the diagnosis process.
    • xxnonamexx
Is there a digestive enzyme that helps build a healthier gut? I see people taking them but not sure what really works
    • trents
So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.
