Looking For Students And Faculty For U Of Mn Twin Cities Group

I am a newly diagnosed Celiac, Gluten Intolerant, and DH student at the U of MN Twin Cities. I noticed that there is not alot of support for those of us with this problem. I would love to start a student organization, or group that could give us on campus support and resources. I know that there has to be students on campus with a gluten intolerance of some sort. Statistically this is true, 1 in every 150-200 people has Celiac's disease. This is not counting those of us with DH or Gluten intolerance.

Here's the deal, the U of MN student organization policy states that you need 5 people to start a club and then also to show that you will have members attending your activities.

I would love to get in contact with those of you on campus and pool our resources so that we can work together as a team to help those on campus and to help incoming freshman feel more at home on campus.

I also think that spreading awareness about how our Disorder affects people is key to helping others. Another great awareness project would be to talk to Boynton as a group about gluten related issues and also dining services about a gluten free menu option for students.
