Kids gluten-free Recipes Help

If anyone would be willing to share some recipes that their younge toddlers have liked I would jump over the moon. *free show* Is there a book with kids recipes?

I got these peek of the market soups and today we have sqush,pumpkin& apple soup, Emmah hate it so much that he barfed it back in the bowl. My dad's in the hospital, he had bowel surgery yesterday so I am running back and forth. Something fast would be great or if anyone knows of some "normal" soups for this week I would appeciate it greatly.

progresso has some gluten free soups that are pretty good.

incredible edible gluten-free food for kids----sheri l. sanderson----we made some really good pizza crust from this book. (which i happen to be eating the leftovers as i type!)

Not really a soup, but Dinty Moore Beef Stew is gluten-free.

I have found that Living Without magazine is a great source for recipes of all kinds. You can check out some free sample recipes at their website Open Original Shared Link. I also have a ton of recipes saved that I could send you....just PM me. And let me know what types of recipes you are looking for (snacks, breakfast items, lunch, desserts, main entrees, sides....etc.). I also have soup recipes. And another easy one may be some BBQ pulled pork that you can make in a crockpot and just serve a side of veggies (canned or frozen if you're in a rush). The recipe is simple, one pork loin, a jar of gluten-free BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup water, garlic salt and 1/4 cup of finely minced onion (optional). My dd loves this with corn or green beans and a side of pasta or potato salad. A big batch of this goes a long way. :)

P.S. Once a send them out, let me know where I can catch the "free show"! LOL!!

Hi! I don't know if you're dealing with additional food allergies, but here are a few things my kids really like that I *alway*s have on hand that are fast and healthy...

**"cheesy chips"...bite-sized (circle)Tostitos and shredded cheddar (you can always add some seasoned crumbled turkey or ground beef)

**Tinkadya Pasta with either olive oil or butter and grated cheese

**mini-meatballs made with gluten-free breadcrumbs

**Breakstone Cottage Doubles --Raspberry (they come in several flavors)

**Columbo Vanilla yogurt

**grilled cheese sandwiches

**rolled up turkey and/or ham and cheese slices

**hamburgers/turkey burgers/Sabrett hotdogs and organic french fries or sweet potato fries

**homemade chicken noodle soup with Tinkadya noodles (really easy and makes a ton)

**homemade mac and cheese (use Tinkadya mac and gluten-free flour or cornstarch for the roux)

**Hormel turkey pepperoni

**Terra Root Vegetable chips

**Tings or Pirate's Booty (Robert's American Gourmet)

**mini pizza's (I've heard that Chebe makes good pizza crusts)

**DelMonte peach cups

**Mott's applesauce

**Jell-o chocolate puddings

**Kozy Shack rice puddings

I know these aren't really recipes, but these are good gluten-free foods to have on hand. Remember whole, pure foods like meat, fruits and veggies are always good, too. My kids are really good eaters, thank God, so I've really just modified thinks I'd normally make. I often make them either a seasoned chicken cutlet, burger or boneless porkchop for dinner if they can't eat what we're having. They usually just get a vegie with dinner b/c they eat enough carbs during the day with snacks. They also have fruit during the day or with dinner. I should eat half as healthy as I feed them! :unsure: I hope this helps and your dad is doing okay.

You can make your soups from scratch... so retro, I know. All soups can be adapted to be gluten free. You can make her favorite at home. Heat in microwave. Your soup will be much healthier. No msg, no junk.

If you don't have to time to make soup from scratch though, Open Original Shared Link brand has some awesome gluten-free soups...my son loves the tomato-basil. Amy's also has other great buy & nuke & serve food - rice crust pizza and gluten-free mac & cheese are a couple of our favorites.

I second the recommendation of Incredible Edible Gluten Free Foods For Kids by Sheri L. Sanderson. It's my favorite cookbook. My daughter's really picky, and she'll eat most of the things I've tried from it.

I also have the incredible edile Gluten free foods for kids,It is great and actually geared towards what kids eat which is the best part.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I do make homemade soups normally but with my dad in the hospital I haven't had too much time with running to my mom's and going to the hospital. I will get that book ASAP.

My kids are major pasta eaters, so I just make Tinkyada elbows and make a cheese sauce: 3 Tablespoons of butter, 1 1/2 cups milk (whatever kind you can tolerate), 2 Tablespoons of cornstarche dissolved in a litttle more milk, and 2 cups of grated sharp cheddar cheese.

They also like the above with a pound of browned ground meat and a 15-oz can of tomato sauce mixed in. They've even been known to eat it with thawed frozen peas and carrots mixed in.

Also, gluten-free chicken broth with Tinkyada spaghetti, frozen peas and carrots, dill, parsley, garlic, and a little chopped onion. Throw a raw boneless chicken breast in with everything but the pasta (make that in a different pot or it will absorb all your broth and then you won't have any :( ). Let it all boil for a good 8-10 minutes to cook the chicken, then dice it up very small and throw it back in.

I just wanted to add a few ideas...

Lunchmeat and cream cheese rolled up

rice crackers and cheese spread (cheddar, cream cheese, and garlic mixed together)

Mission corn tortilla wrap sandwiches (my favorite is sweet balogna and cheese)(my husband's favorite is bacon, egg, and cheese)

pear dogs (half a pear decorated with raisins to look like a doggie)

apples and peanut butter

carrots and ranch dressing

gluten free meatloaf (use crushed gluten-free cereal instead of bread crumbs) - decorate slices with ketchup, i make mine look like a cake, i use baby carrots for candles

carrot and raisin salad w/ or w/o mini marshmallows

oscar meyer hot dogs

banana sliced up and arranged into pictures, decorate with cinnamon or colored sugar

nachos (tortilla chips, shredded cheddar, shredded carrot, beef, tomato if desired, onion, top with sour cream or guac)

skewer foods- kid friendly kabobs with fun dipping sauces, cut off sharp edges

If your toddler is picky, give him/her several choices of vegetables and sauces and have them "cook" their own snacks. They'll mix it all up and then eat it. Hopefully anyway.

This is a list of foods my son will eat that I put together for people who keep him sometimes. He is soooo picky, but will eat all of this. There are a lot of quick things since it is for other people. I know a lot of it is junk food, but I was shooting for items that people could find:

• Delimex Taquitos - double check ingredients since some have wheat

• Oscar Mayer Hot dogs and bologna

• Hormel microwave bacon

• Kraft Cheese – singles, mozzarella, and cheddar

• Mission Corn tortillas

He likes these made into quesadillas and pizzas. To make the pizzas, put one tortilla down, sprinkle lightly with cheese and place a 2nd tortilla on top. Top that tortilla with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni. I put it in the toaster oven, but the oven is fine. Just cook it until the cheese melts.

• Ragu or Sam’s Choice pasta and pizza sauce

• Hormel Pepperoni

• Nerds, Sweet Tarts, Runts, Laffy Taffy, jolly rancher jelly beans, skittles, starburst

• Reese’s Cups, Hershey’s kisses, Reese’s pieces, M&M’s

• Member’s Mark (Sam’s) Gummies

• Breadless Coating brand Chicken Tenders. They say Gluten Free on the bag. (found at Publix

• Gluten free biscuits. (Cause You’re so Special is a good Brand)

• Peanut Butter and Jelly

• Gluten free pancakes – Bob’s Red Mill is good from Kroger. Golden Eagle syrup, Real Maple syrup, jelly, and honey are good toppers. Pamela’s brand is excellent!

• Gluten free bread – cinnamon toast is a favorite, grilled cheese, grilled bologna and cheese (Use Bob’s Red Mill, Pamela’s, or Cause You’re Special Homemade bread. Tapioca bread from EnerG -found at Kroger- is ok in a tight, but not nearly as good and has to be toasted to be consumable.)

• Kraft regular and light Mayo

• Heinz Ketchup

• Hunt’s Snack cups – jello and pudding

• Jello brand jello.

• Vann’s gluten free waffles (found at Target, Publix and Health Food stores). Blueberry and Chocolate chip are his favorites.

• Amy’s Frozen Rice Crust Cheese Pizza (found at Target and Health food stores).

• Black Forrest Hormel Ham (I buy this at Sam’s). If getting deli meats cut, make sure they clean the slicer first since gluten meats and cheeses may have been cut on it.

• Frito Lay chips – fritos, stax, cheetos, ruffles, plain

• UTZ potato chips

• Popcorn – I usually pop the real stuff. I need to check on Microwave types.

• Ore Ida French fries (most) and tater tots(all) – check ingredients

• Gluten free cornbread – make sure the mix does not contain flour (most do). Don’t cook it in a cast iron skillet where gluten breads have been cooked. The porous material holds gluten.

• Fruit – he loves grapes, apples (especially with peanut butter), bananas, oranges

• Real butter, country crock - a lot are ok, but be careful! Cross contamination is a big issue.

• Pillsbury or Betty Crocker Icing – cream cheese is his favorite

• Veggies are good, but good luck getting him to eat them! ; )

• Crystal Light – orange is his favorite

• Coke and Pepsi brand soft drinks are gluten-free, but I don’t give him many.

• Popsicles – Popsicle brand and Kool Aid brand are good. There are MANY others.

• Raisins

• gluten-free cupcakes – Cause You’re Special Brand is good.

• Chebe mix and Kinnikinnik frozen pizza crusts and white sandwich bread are good. So are Enjoy Life Snickerdoodles.

      Hi, I bought Naked Nutrition Creatine. It lists itself as gluten free but is not certified. (It used to be, but they dropped it in the past year or two apparently.) I wrote the company and asked them what testing results they had for creatine and they sent me the attached, which says the test result for gluten is <0.025MCG. I'm used to seeing test results as ppm, so I'm not sure what <0.025MCG means. Can it be converted to ppm easily? I want to confirm that it is safe to use.

      When I was still recovering my gastroenterologist suggested I bought lactofree product as I was very bloated.  So I bought some from the supermarket and from memory, I drank a nice big glass of milk - and it went right through me literally within an hour or so, if my memory serves correctly.  I came off dairy completely next and it worked like a charm, but started to reintroduce quite gradually it as I missed it! To this day, if I overdo dairy products, they work like a mild laxative.  I've never wanted to give up milk completely as I like it so much, and my mum had osteoporosis and it's an easy way of getting calcium.  But it doesn't really 'sit' well with me.   You may need to experiment a bit as when I was healing certain dairy products were worse than others - I could cope with one brand of Greek yoghurt, but I got extremely and painfully bloated with another brand of live British yoghurt.

      i have been strictly gluten free for 7 months. this includes avoiding anything that may contain gluten and making sure surfaces and appliances are clean. i am 18 years old in australia and my tTG-IgA results were 69U/mL, pretty low compared to most people's, for reference. i feel the exact same as before. sure, i was pretty much asymptomatic/silent. the worst i'd get was occasionally bad stools and pitting of the nails/brittle hair since early childhood - and i was diagnosed with low iron and vitamin d which checks out due to easy bruising and such. but those symptoms have remained. maybe i'm jumping the gun, sure. i know it can take years to fully heal. but being over half a year in, i feel that i should be, y'know, healing. i'm nearly at my wits end and wondering if i should have a piece of bread or something to see how i go - to see if i possibly have refractory? my mental health is declining as i feel myself wanting to bang my head against a damn wall out of frustration every day. cravings haven't gotten better. look, i love the stuff i still can have, like salads and such. OH! i haven't lost any weight, which is mind boggling considering i eat very healthily now! i've always been on the chubbier side which is atypical of coeliac. i just don't know what's going on with me. i try to remain hopeful but i'm just so sad all the time. thanks for reading

      @Charlie1946There is a PM (Personal Message) tool built into the forum website that allows you to send a private message to other forum users. Just hover over their name with your mouse cursor and the menu containing that tool will pop up. This is useful if you want to communicate with an individual without everyone else involved in the thread seeing it.  Are you realizing that in my PPI taper down recommendations in an earlier post above, I was responding not to your posts but to @Caligirl57? If you must use a PPI, I certainly would advise taking the lowest dose that is effective for you.
