Not happy ! <_< For the second time I have tried to eat at a large city hospital cafe and have found they had no Gluten Free food. Not even a cake. I had to wait 2 hours at the hosp today for results and I was hungry and they had NOTHING. I would have thought a hospital would have gluten-free food.

That is such a bummer! I have found it's very difficult to go out depending on a place to be gluten-free. So I like to do research before going...calling the place, looking things up online, etc. Good luck!

I work in a large hospital and it is very depressing that they don't serve anything gluten free. I bring my own lunch anyway, since it saves a ton of money.

Too bad though, in my gluten days I ate a lot of hospital meals since they were actually very good. I think they should provide more options. I know they provide gluten free meals for inpatients.

This is one that always surprises me, some of you have seen my posts on here before. I basically had to live in the hospital for almost 2 months last year while recovering from heart surgery. As a patient, they sent a dietition up to me, and she had a full menu of everything they made in the kitchen that was gluten free. When my food was brought to me, a number of the nurses were very knowledgable and made sure they didn't get me the wrong thing. I was told I could order anything the kitchen made at anytime, not just what they served that day. But that was probably because I was a patient.

There was even a heath food/organic store across the street that a couple of nurses even picked me up some gluten free cookies from time to time. They actually expensed it to the hospital.

Though I'm sure it all depends on the hospital and staff.

FYI, I was at the Boulder Community Hospital on Broadway in Boulder, CO

      Stomach burning and neuropathy

      Hello I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.       Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet. I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now. He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.       Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-F...

      Hi all I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also]. BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering...

I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

      Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.
