Another Bread Question!

Ok, so I think I found a pretty good bread recipe, but the problem is that it is so little! The bread slices are about half as tall as normal bread. Is there a way to make bread that is taller? I want it to look more normal so a slice of cheese or whatever will actually fit on it! I could also use some different recipes. I am just trying out different ones until I find one the whole family enjoys. The latest one is a little dense, but still pretty good.

Thanks!

I don't know of any way to make the bread taller, but to make the slices more "functional" you could get creative in how you cut the bread. When I have a loaf that doesn't rise I cut it in half so I have 2 really big "heels" then flip it up so the cut end is down on the cutting board and cut slices parallel to the original bottom of the loaf. You'll get fewer slices, but they should be large enough to use for sandwiches. Oh my, the tricks this disease teaches us!

is your bread too tall or too wide?

I just use a normal size loaf pan.It is wide enough, just too short. I want it to be taller so it seems more "normal".

Wow... sounds like you're doing pretty good if you can get it to come out in a regular loaf pan! I had to start out with muffins, then mini-loafs and now use a regular loaf pan for the bread recipe that I make.

I also cut bread creatively, like Richard suggested!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
