Did I Gluten Him On Accident?

I think I may have gluten my dad using Pam cooking spray. I sprayed the pan not even theinking then realized it was made of soy.

is he supposed to be soy free along with gluten free?

No but I swear the list his doctor gave him of wheat products had soy on it.

hmmm...from what I understand it's just wheat, rye, barley, and oats... (if I'm mistaken someone let me know)

anyway I would say no that you didn't gluten him.

Pam is gluten-free. I use it. Soy is not gluten, but a number of people with celiac have found they also have have trouble tolerating soy, at least in quantity.

Soy itself is FINE for a Celiac.

However, Soy SAUCE often has gluten/wheat in it. I would say most of them do, especially in prepared foods. That may be what you are thinking...it is often listed as something to look at, since most people wouldn't think about soy sauce!

OK, it probably is soy. My dad says it's not a problem and told me to send them. Thanks guys, I panicked when I realized as this is his birthday cake.

they do now make a pam with flour, however, for baking, that IS a problem for celiacs. regular pam is gluten free.

      Hello, I was very stick, with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel. Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change? What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?...

One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to...

      I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
