Tomorrow's A Snow Day!

Tomorrow is SO a snow day!

That arctic storm coming across the Pacific Northwest came down during our commute home (and pretty much only during that). Something around 6 inches of snow during those 2.5 hours. (Note that it usually only takes 25 minutes. <_< )

Given that there are plenty of cars stranded on the freeway, and more on the street coming up the hill towards our house, and the roads were icing over at 7pm, it's probably not going to be safe to go to work tomorrow morning. :P Given that our car is parked in a parking lot 2.3 miles away and we'd have to walk through the snow (again) to get to it (at least this time, *not* up the big hill  ), it might be kinda hard to get in anyway.

So it's a snow day!

Of course, our workplace (my husband and I work for the same company, same project, same group) "doesn't shut down due to adverse weather" but we "can flex our time to make up the time later in the week or take vacation time, but not sick time".

Yay for snow day! Too bad I can't go skiing. :P

:P:P:P

Bad weather is coming my way, it just seems to be taking the roundabout path to get here. I'm prepared to stay home for a couple of days!

Well crap, we only got a slight dusting here.

We got a couple inches down here (north of vancouver).

Supposed to be one icy mess tomorrow morning. Poor dh can't get out of work....he's a local truck driver. He'll be allowing twice the normal amount of time to get where he needs to go.

We're all doing the happy dance here too. All the kids will be out of school, we have 6 inches with more coming down (slowly now) and we all LOVE the snow. It's a treat here - last time the area got hit we only got 3/4 inch.

I only got a little on Bainbridge, but my walk up the hills of Seattle was interesting....

Hopefully we can get out by Friday, because I have plans on Sunday and can't work *both* weekend days! :)

Well, I don't know about snow or ice, but we sure have wind here! It's gusting so hard, it takes everything I can muster to keep the car on the road. I think we'll be staying home tonight!

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
