Hi. A store nearby was going out of business so I picked up 4 of these for half price. i was really excited.

I got the french bread/pizza crust one and I'm wondering. Can I make on the dough cycle in the bread machine and then shape into small loaves and rise again and bake?

I want to make chicken cheese steaks for dinner tomorrow night, but I need buns for that. Will it work if I do that? I don't want to waste an expensive mix if I don't have to!

THANKS!

OH...also, I have the brownie mix. I have a girlfriend who's daughter is allergic to dairy, AND soy so I can't use oil either (maybe canola would be okay?) Can I use apple sauce for the oil and like egg beaters? or are egg beaters eggs?

THANKS!

Sorry I didn't see this before....

Good luck with your rolls. I use the GFP French Bread mix and love it--but I don't use a breadmaker. I just mix it in my KitchenAid and bake it in a loaf pan in the oven. Comes out great--and smells good, too :)

I have made dinner roll-sized rolls with it--I shaped the dough, and baked the rolls on a cookie sheet. I know some people do rolls in a muffin pan. (Of course, that wouldn't work for cheesesteaks!)

Enjoy your sandwiches--that sounds so good.

Edit: I just remembered you also asked about the brownie mix--it's fantastic! I always use oil with mine (I'm dairy free, too). I've used canola in the past, and now use expeller pressed sunflower. Both ways turn out fine.

Egg beaters do contain real eggs.

I love the brownie mix, I even have fooled non-celiacs at work with them. They honestly taste like the real thing. Too bad I dont have a bag on hand....I am not craving them. :)

Thanks. I didn't get to make them yet. I got too wrapped up with other stuff. I tried to use the bread from the bakery I had gotten. YUCK. It's REALLY bad.

i will try it tomorrow. I more think I'll make them into rolls anyway b/c if it doesn't taste right, I don't want to force myself to eat it too fast. Does that make sense?

Will I EVER like gluten free bread? I mean I LOVED bread. I ate it almost every day. And I just don't like the gluten free breads I've had. :( I miss bread. WAAAAA WAAAAA!!!!

I have not yet used this particular brownie mix, but I have substituted applesauce for oil in many other recipes. It works pretty well for baking mixes. My DD is also soy free so I just bought canola oil for use in bread mixes.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
