I Think My Friend Has A Food Intolerance

I think my friend has a food intolerance, she has major bathroom issues several times a week. We

have figured out so far that she is intolerant to corn. Whne she eats popcorn she has a major JJF issue and runs to the bathroom. But I think there is more too it than that. She has some stomach problems too, bloated and yucky feeling. I don't think she realized that corn is in everything, just like gluten, or worse. Does anyone have a list of what not to eat with a corn intolerance? She likes to cook, and makes a lot of things homemade, so she has that on her side.

You're probably wondering what a JJF issue is! I was reading my paragraph and realized what I said. A JJF issue is what we call when we have to run to the bathroom urgently, we say we have a "Jumpin Jack Flash" or a JJF issue. That way people around us don't know exactly what is going on. Kinda screwy, but it works for us!

Here is a link to a corn allergen site, that lists all the foods containing corn.

That is so nice of you to look up things for your friend! I have Celiac, but I am also a little intolerant to corn. I have noticed that it makes me bloated. I don't really avoid it (because I don't think it is causing damage like gluten would) but I do keep that in mind, and don't get it as often as I normally would. Just my experience. Hope your friend finds some answers!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
