Because I've been suffering with daily headaches and stomach discomfort, I decided to have this test done. I was shocked by the results because I showed an intolerance to corn and rice, plus many other foods. If I eliminate corn and rice, I won't be left with much to eat. How reliable are these tests? I feel like I have few enough choices in my diet, and now all these other foods would have to be eliminated. Cane sugar and tuna were listed as the highest reaction. Some of the foods listed I never eat. Also, wheat and rye were negative, but oats were listed. Is it worth it to give up all of these foods? My GI doctor does not consider this test accurate.

I just had the yorktest IgG tests done, they tested for 116 foods and I had a lsightly storng reaction to yeast and weak reactions to beans, various beans, soy and molluscs.

I have read several other postigs about those tests at this and other forums, and some say they were surprised at the findings as they never eat this or that. Someone tried a no-no, and did react...

And, some posted that when they avoided the weak positives too, they felt better.

I did not have any reaction to gliadin or wheat either on the IgG test, but in real life I do.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
