I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about going to this? It is this Sat on St. Patty's day. It is at pier 66 in Seattle. I seems kinda spendy, but could be fun.....

I thought about it, and the money does go to support education, but I was kind of mad that I have to pay $6 for a bag of flour AND they think I should be paying for their educational expenses.

And it took them over a month to answer an email I sent asking for details on this.

Hhmm, 6 bucks for a bag of flour huh? It better be some darn good flour.... I was considering it as a way to try some new goodies and have a no worry social event. Maybe even feel somewhat normal and not have to ask what is in everything.

Jestgar Rising Star

Well, there is that. I'm not a very social person so that part of it didn't occur to me at all :)

I'm not very social either LOL. I am way too shy, but I thought maybe i could kick myself in the rear and try at least. I too am a cave dweller. I may drag my mom with me.

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
