Does Metabolic Testing (celiac Disease)

I was trying to find out if they did metabolic testing. Does that test for celiac diease too? My oldest had a metabolic test when she was one. I'm trying to find out about all of this. Both of my girls 3yrs and 11mos. Are considered Failure to thrive. They've been tested for CF and they don't have that. They eat everything in sight and still don't put weight on. I'm going to try to bring this up Thursday at the babies weight check. I don't know why they don't put weight on. I don't know much about Celiac Disease. I just read about it this weekend. I'm also going to have my grandmother mention it to her Dr. She has a lot of these symptoms. If there is anyone with any info I would appreciate it.

i doubt that metabolic testing includes celiac testing unless your doctor specifically orders it. it sounds like a good idea to have your girls tested for celiac.

      Blood Test for Celiac wheat type matters?

      I'm not saying that some celiacs won't need it, but it should be done under a doctor's supervision because it can cause lots of problems in some people.

      I also noticed I get debilitating migraines when I smell gluten, wheat and its not taken seriously when it affects one in every way.Im still begging to properly be heard.I also noticed tolerance level is down the drain with age and life changes. I have been told by incompetent medical that im not celiac or that sensitive. Diagnosed in 1994 by gi biopsy gluten...

Iodate is reduced in the gastrointestinal tract and absorbed as iodide [2,5]."  That would certainly include malabsorption of Iodine due to Celiac Disease with resultant Iodine Deficiency.       Wheatwacked, are you speaking of the use of potassium bromide and and azodicarbonamide as dough modifiers being controlling factor for what? Do you refer to celiac reactions to gluten or thyroid disease, kidney disease, GI cancers?
