Last time I checked, both Dove & Peeps are OK. Also, all of See's Candies, except for their malt truffles, are gluten free. None of the Godiva chocolates are.

Dear Lynn,

Jelly Belly Jelly Beans (except the cinnamon toast flavor are safe)

Marshmallow Peeps

Cadbury Creme Eggs

Cadbury Caramel Eggs

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Eggs (not the small ones, only regular size)

Skittles

M&Ms (regular and peanut)

Starbursts

This should give your child a nice basket of goodies! Also, there are some non-food items you child might enjoy:

Coloring books

Crayons

Markers

Activity Books

Quarters in some of the plastic eggs

Things a girl would like:

A cool keychain

sunglasses

A small stuffed toy like a bunny

Hair barrettes

A trendy stretch bracelet

A get out of chore free card

Some things a boy would like:

Trading cards of his favorite sports heroes

A cool keychain

Get out of chore free card

A cool wrist watch

Some neat sunglasses

A stuffed animal or action figure

I hope this helps!

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

Thanks for the reminder that it's not just the candy! I find that so much of our lives revolve around food... and candy... A little bunny and a deck of cards with some time with Mom and/or Dad to play with them is probably much more appreciated!

Thank you so much for all your help. I didn't even think of "girly" things to put in her basket.. I hope you are feeling well these days.

Dear mamatide,

We do tend to let food dominate us. It is hard not letting it! My parents used to get me all kinds of stuff I love. Markers and colored pens are some of my favorites. I have always loved to draw and write. So, you can imagine I grew up to be an artist. We got food as well. My grandmother one time made me a money tree. She took a little bucket, and filled it with gravel and a small branch from the bushes or something at their house. Then she hung plastic Easter eggs filled with quarters! It was neat! My parents sometimes got me make-up, which I love as well.

Dear Lynn,

You are welcome! I used to babysit a lot as a teenager. I loved putting stuff together for them. It does not matter if it was Halloween or what, it was always a good excuse to buy stuff and have fun! Girly things are great if your daughter is like me. If she loves to play dress up, wear make-up, and look pretty, there are a lot of options! Food is great too, but it does not last long! The candy goes quick. Sometimes it is nice to have something to hold on to. Have a great Easter!

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

Dear Lynn,

I am glad your girl had a great Easter! Those pocket books are fun to have! There are more options than we tend to acknowledge! You are right, she may be interested in the make-up next year. It varies, though. I loved wearing make-up and wearing heels at three! My grandfather was amazed that I did cartwheels in them! I treated myself to a nice 3Musketeers bar! I got to have a dark chocolate Hershey bar the day before. I have to stop those though, because they have milk. I cannot have it anymore either. :( I discovered that recently. At least there is the Chocolate Emporium for dairy free, gluten free confections! The prices are not bad, really. Try the cake mixes! They are great! Take care and write soon!

Dear NoGluGirl,

Oh, I'm glad you had your chocolate. Sorry to hear that you shouldn't eat it. Hope you felt ok afterwards.. Take care, write soon & keep warm :)

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗

I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again

You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.

@par18, no, Scott's use of the term "false negative" is intentional and appropriate. The "total IGA" test is not a test used to diagnose celiac disease per se. The IGA immune spectrum response encompasses more than just celiac disease. So, "total IGA" refers to the whole pie, not just the celiac response part of it. But if the whole pie is deficient, the spectrum of components making it up will likely be also, including the celiac disease response spectrum. In other words, IGA deficiency may produce a tTG-IGA score that is negative that might have been positive had there not been IGA deficiency. So, the tTG-IGA negative score may be "false", i.e, inaccurate, aka, not to be trusted.

This may be the problem. Every time you eat gluten it is like giving a booster shot to your immune system, telling it to react and produce antibodies again.
